I just think they would taste great. I know Rocky's Revenge, but that is blended. I'm talking a nice bold brown ale aged in some nice bourbon barrels. I don't know of any.

Ale Asylum, if you see this age some of your Madtown Nut Brown in bourbon barrels in your brand new facility. I'll buy it up, promise!

I don't have an answer to your question (I don't live in Wisconsin), but I can confirm that bourbon-barrel aged brown ales do drink very nice. A local brewer down here in Cincinnati made one recently called ``Brown Chicken Brown Cow''. Are you familiar with Founders Backwoods Bastard? It tastes a lot like that, except perhaps a little sweeter and with just a bit less body. Another brewer out in Louisville (BBC) did one not too long ago called ``Bourbon Barrel Big Brown''. It too was delicious. The oaky vanilla notes from the bourbon barrels perfectly complement the sweet, nutty, malty flavors of the beer.

I like the blend in Rocky's Revenge, because I feel like the base beer itself couldn't hold up to 100% barrel aging. Beautiful round character. Other than that, I can't think of any.

Not sure if Big Muddy's Backwoods Monster is available in WI.

It's easy-to-find in the Chicago area if you're ever down this way....

It looks like the thread is opened again. If still interested, tyranena's rocky's revenge is pretty good. That's the only one I can think of right now.

Does Wisconsin get distro from Prairie yet? If so, they just released an imperial brown ale aged in whiskey barrels called Okie that's darn good.

Thanks, but no Prairie in WI yet... Really wish they did.

BA Farmer Brown from Great River was just released, but its infected :slight_frown: actually not a bad tasting beer, but I'm sure its not what they were going for. It tastes like a cross between a sour brown/flanders.
