Because OH are dicks about telling people how many allotments they have so you just never know. Sometimes they last other times they don't. At the anniversary release anyone that got in line after 6:15am got skunked on 2nd and 3rd anniversary beers. Last year if you lined up after 7:30 for The Answer collab you missed on Double Dribble. If they were upfront on what is being produced it would help on the ridiculous lines and would still sell out.

 

Yup, just cracked a can and it is quite tasty. Although a hazebro will tell you that theirs is so much better because they were in line at 3 am and totally crushed that line, bro.

 

Saw those too. Also saw keg tops for the alvarado street collab, florida plates 2, crak brewery collab with honey lactose and strawberry and a bunch of double hop beers (simcoe/idaho7, african queen/mosaic, galaxy/el dorado to name a few).

 

Where dem tops at?

 

So much for the next few weeks being "low key" after all these collabs.

Damn mosaic+galaxy is delicious. Pissed I missed it but hurt my knee last weekend and now it just kicked for growlers right after I asked for it.

 

Also, very impressed by El Camino Misfires. Great concept and execution. Prob will be pretty divisive but impressive.

 

Looking for opinions........arrived at 1:30pm on Saturday. Bought cans of Hoof and Monk. Had a pour of Answer collab in taproom. My personal rating: Hoof>Answer>Monk. Just me.

 

Is this a quiz? Feel like the information that you arrived at 1:30 just an unnecessary fact to try to trip us up.

So after trying all 3 collabs, Answer > Hoof Hearted > Monkish. Actually really disappointed in the Monkish collab, maybe I had a bad can but just tastes a little off.

And while it may be heresy to the hazebros, I also really liked el Camino misfires; really refreshing and the coffee/raspberry combo is right on, with the vanilla coming through for a little sweetness as well.

 

Interesting... I haven’t tried the answer collab yet, but cracked a can of the monkish collab last night and i liked it better than the LGA collab from a few weeks back. Thought it was nicely balanced and it’s refreshing to get back to a solid non ddh double without the hop powder boost.

 

So are these collabs better than any other OH beer being released on any regular Saturday?

Just asking because I find myself not being hyped on collabs anymore. I got kinda hyped on the 4 way All In. But it wasn't mind blowing.

 

I find that most of the collabs are hit or miss for the most part. Several collabs that I'd put as some of the best OH has put out, but also a decent amount of meh to not so great as well.

At this point I get more hyped when a beer I've had before that I know I really enjoy is being released vs. any collab or other hyped new release. Give me DDH Hop Showers variants every week and I'd be stoked. Also wish they would do the single hopped beers (non ddh, non imperial, non lactose) more often.
