"Wut?" was asking why you brought up prostitution at all. It had nothing to do with what I said. If I'm reading you right, you're trying to attack my initial point that what Stone did was different than typical lewd advertising. Your way of doing that has been to bring up prostitution jokes on beer labels for reasons I can't really figure out. Am I on the right track here?

I'm not really going to get into your bizarre "what if" scenario since it has nothing to do with my initial point and sounds like some kind of tangent.

No, I was pointing out the history of craft beer is more than "typical lewd advertising."

And, I was pointing that out... not "attacking" anything.

Well this whole thing started with me and a few others identifying that what Stone did rose above whatever level of lewdness we come to expect from craft beer advertising. That was due to its implication that consent is optional. I think it was logical of me to assume you were trying to imply that such a thing is not out of the ordinary in craft beer advertising. I think many are contending that it is something worse. Do you disagree with that assertion?

Actually, I'm tired of all the dot and tittle parsing of this topic. It is all disagreeable to me.

Saw this and said wait a minute... Bought this a few years ago and never paid any attention to the label other than the front side. Had to run into basement to check.

On the 2014 bottles too...makes me wonder how this got approved.

Equate it? Perhaps not, but promoting it is a separate and separable issue.

You might want to discuss the topic with the person in the article linked to below. He has a very different view and one from the inside of the culture.

Who would have guessed that an elaborate, universal form of communication that is essentially the bedrock of our success as a species would have the ability to invoke feelings and reactions in others? Crazy times we live in.

I encourage that, but seems we also lost our sense of humor in the mix. If you don’t like the tweet, unfollow them. Don’t buy their beer. Vote with your dollars (and likes/retweet’s)

The sense of humor hasn't changed, just what is considered humorous. There's nothing new or modern about that, it's been going on for thousands of years. Watching someone be drawn and quartered was once form of entertainment that sometimes provoked laughter.

Come on, a tweet poking fun at a sexual innuendo shouldn’t be compared to being drawn and quartered. Let me guess, my avatar offends you as well?

Who said I was offended? You’re being overly sensitive.

Funny then isnt funny now. Things change.

I just think it’s ridiculous to compare the tweet to being drawn and quartered. Does that make me over sensitive? Or logical?

And who's to decide that for us? That's where things get scary to me. In the current culture where people are just waiting for someone to make them mad, all these companies should be asking, "Will we eventually have to apologize for this?"
I think Greg Koch is kind of a tool from the personal interactions I've had with him. But it's the beer that keeps me from buying Stone, not their ads or Tweets.

It probably does offend the ghost of Jerry Garcia! Just make sure you keep your windows closed... the dire wolf may be lurking out in the cold, rain, and snow!

Why it makes you oversensitive from the perspective folks in the era when drawing and quartering was practiced folks. Back then thought no more of it than some of us today think of tweets. Notice also that my point was what some consider funny isn't necessarily funny to all or folks in a different time and place.

I don't disagree with much of what you have said except your restriction to the "current era." We're dealing here with a fundamental part of human nature and the only thing that differs between then and now is what some folks consider funny or what will make some of them mad.

BTW, and FYI, I don't drink many Stone beers but in my case that's because I don't find them better than those I can drink that are fresher when I find them.

Just seems like a stretch. Publicly beheading someone or disembowlimg them, hanging them. Compared to a Beej tweet? I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one. Cheers anyway my friend
