Yes, I stand by my post "dumb-dumb" (yes, I can stoop down to your level). The only reason you posted here (since you don't actually go to EQ or stand in line at OH except when you go when you really want the can) is that you love to pile on (with your buddies) and been anti-line, anti-bottle share, and OH hates their customers (I know that is a joke). You might actually benefit from taking the time to read the posts more carefully.

I don't have a problem with your opinions except you don't filter yourself. Too many of the same exact posts. I get it, it's fun for you to post excessively. I try to make most of my posts helpful information posts but sometimes, I too let my opinion known. Don't ever let the truth get in the way of your posting.

I'm going to keep this simple - why did you guys pile on when he wasn't posting anything inflammatory, and hadn't responded in 10 hours?

    Answer the question.

Don't dance around with comments about my personality or making assumptions about my motives, or most embarrassingly of all, calling me "dumb dumb". Just answer the question.

And is drinking beer not enough reason to be involved in a thread these days? You have to line up to qualify?

I posted when I read the thread that night (you have posted later on other threads). In fact, I posted less than a hour later than your own post that night. There were other people posting on the issue and I gave my response which other people agreed with. It's a done issue for me and the guy who didn't know about the ticketing system. The issue was reported by a third party and hopefully will be fixed.

Can you stop your verbal diarrhea?

    Some high level dialogue here.
At this rate, equilibrium will end up with their own monthly thread where 5% of posts are beer related.

I've communicated to both of the co-owners and their social media folks. The OP has a valid point about the tickets, I believe when they announce their releases this week they will post a reminder on how the ticketing system works. As for the FB group, it's private for a reason, mainly because of trading and some people don't want their names showing up in a google search if it's a public group, this is standard for how all beer trading groups are set up. It may be "private" but anyone can join, we have almost 3,000 members. Back to the ticketing system for a minute, the system works extremely well. During the Hopt2 release over the summer, there was major line cutting with a huge crown, some not intentional, but when it was time to line up 200 people didn't know where they were in line because everyone tends to crowd around a centralized area for the bottle share. This happens because this isn't 1st grade, we don't stand in a line for 4 hours and not leave our spots. The beer releases are a social event where people are free to mingle around, even leave the premises if they want to (lots of people who live close come and get a ticket, go back home, and then return at 11am, same for people with younger children). This is the purpose of the ticket, you get your numbered ticket, that secures your spot in line, then you can do whatever you want, stay, leave, etc. and when the time comes you line up in ticket order. After Hopt2, a couple of us volunteered to help pass out the tickets. Why? Well we're friends with the people who run the brewery, we are there already, and why should the brewery with only a couple employees need to pay someone to show up at 5am to do this? They system works perfectly, the only flaw is yes, maybe people need a reminder how it works, that will be addressed as I mentioned. An actual employee should do the tickets you say? Well I can tell you, at Hudson Valley, and actual employee does do it, starting at 9am, and last release when I showed up well before that I was #35 in line, I counted the chairs, at 9am when I got my bracelet I was #41. 6 people cut me because no one (employee or otherwise) was there to police the line. Not a big deal right? Well someone else was #89 and got #101 and allotments were cut at #100. See where I'm going with this - it's better to have a responsible line person handle the tickets right away rather than an employee who shows up after there's already hundreds of people there. Not sure how a question about tickets turned into something else but I'll leave it with that and know that the brewery should be refreshing everyone's memory on the ticket process.

oooo more joooice to the EQ saga

i still would like to know why EQ cans basically re-ferment.. i know i got "3" reasons or whatever but it's still something of a technical thing with their process or they are rushing shit out much like Tired Hands did when exploding growlers was a thing... much like TH there isn't much of an explanation... sure i'm in the wrong on how i treated my cans but it still shouldn't happen... these aren't fruited IPA's... if buying EQ ipa's equates to buying answer Joooses or burley oak jreams or veils nevernevernevernevers then it is what it is... but i've not bought any other IPA's that fall into this realm since the TH exploding growler days

It only happened with one can, Photon, to my knowledge. And they gave a very detailed reason why it happened on the Eq trade and fan page. I'm sure if you went and searched for it you would find it and can read the details for yourself. Oddly enough, because many breweries are now, they dont use any lactose, milk sugars or other IPA adjuncts to "enhance" their IPA's... its all water profile which makes sense considering their background in science.

A good brewery and a nice addition to the local market for people who don't like driving long distances to pick up truly outstanding beer.

The issue becomes that if you are going to put it out there that this place is very near perfect and expect independent thinking people's jaws to drop and for them to consider themselves blessed to be in the presence of this type of greatness, you don't know enough about human nature.

Now do what you can to find something heinous about this statement.

With the grants and building from the city wouldn't job growth be expected? Why should a brewery employee not be there and paid to support the brewery created event? That on the surface has the appearance of making money hand over fist.

Many of us see things as a win-win situation if we can make sure that the brewers get to make all the profit. It means they can continue to afford to make the beer we enjoy to drink as often as we like them to do. Cheers to you and all the others who contribute to that with time and effort!

There are always kinks to work out, and there are always folks who are there to point them out and complain about them, and even to put down what you do. I hope you realize the number of folks who are the opposite, who greatly appreciate what you do, what the brewery does, and the scene that surrounds the amazing beer being produced, are many, many times greater in number.

LOL @ this... yes, I'm sure someone getting paid to count wristbands for 1-2 hours a week would really make a meaningful impact on the town's economy, the owners must be RAKING IT IN on those savings

Exactly my point, paying someone to be there probably isn't going to break the bank. It even has the potential of making a meaningful impact on the individual earning the extra cash.

Are we using the term allotment to describe a free ration of food now? Have we become so conditioned to everything being a "full allotment" or not? Do the linelife guys hand out tickets for the "allotment" of free brisket as well? What time do people generally line up to ensure an allotment of free brisket?

How are dhop8 and the stout? I saw they had a bunch of dhop1 and 8 left after the line dissipated and almost made the drive up, but ended up heading to nj instead.

It seemed to me that your point was, now that we know EQ receives gov't $, any indication that the owners could be making a decent profit is reason enough to criticize them for not giving back enough to the economy. The idea that somehow more is expected of them because they took the money is understandable, but I don't necessarily agree (I know a lot of breweries receive similar assistance but just weren't called out in a prominent NYT article, and for f&%!$ sake how many companies receive massive handouts that go entirely to their shareholders? That doesn't make it right, but if that's the case why are you harping on a tiny business like EQ?)

I think it's clear that they're already making a positive impact, and I know any new business has a tough time scraping by in the first few years so don't expect them to be job creators quite yet.
I applaud the City / state for helping EQ get started, and don't think we need to micromanage their business decisions because our tax dollars are finally being used to promote something we all enjoy and something that has a meaningful impact on the town.

In short - they should get a sign. Problem solved.

Annnnd the circle jerk continues. Hiring people was literally a stipulation of them being given the building. Only at EQ would a comment that a brewery should pay someone to DO WORK for them be taken as complaining...
