What does a big college basketball fan do when he's between jobs at just the right time of year?

Drink beer and watch March Madness 12 hours straight, then do it again tomorrow (well, the beer will be intermittently throughout the day but the ball will be almost non-stop). First up is a 2013 Smuttynose Barleywine. This beer has aged wonderfully, really the perfect spot for an American barleywine, with just a hint of hop bitterness and huge complexity.

That is an odd color for a beer.

 

Gym and errands are done. Overtime during the NCAA tournament and spring break calls for a beer. My daughter added her drink to the picture and my son added his hands.

 

Post run Pilsner from the good folks at Mystic in Chelsea MA. Very refreshing and slightly sweet to my palate. Glad I picked up a couple.

 

You must not be familiar with NEIPA’s. Many look like dirty water. I’m just getting used to it.

 

Most NE IPAs look like orange juice or a mimosa. That one looks like someone washed their muddy socks in it. It could also just be the lighting. As long as it tastes good! Skol!

Alesmith ipa 7.25%. So good. I kinda forgot about this beer but its the taste I was looking for right now.

 

Extreme Baltic Coffee Choco Mocca Porter from Klein Duimpje Brewery.

Was expecting much more coffee, probably because of the label. This beer has the aroma and 'mouthfeel' like a barly wine. Bit strange to me, but there is defiantly a very nice aftertaste of Ethiopian coffee.
