Other Half March 2018!

    I'm trying to understand why the newest piece of operational info OH provides on the instagram post is what ridiculous time they will start handing out wristbands, rather than case counts? Oh ya, I know why, because they want their loyal minions to see the post and go "oh shit, handing out wrist bands at 6am, guess I better get there at 5am!

    Can someone tell me what other purpose this serves, other than driving a false hype?

    Personally, I don't think the Other Half glassware has been that great recently (although the NYC 2 LA teku was nice). I still think their DDH Broccoli glass is their best. I do have an affinity for the Fully Loaded teku, 'cause it's so ridiculous.

    I lovingly refer to my dog as "potato" or "tater" cause, well, he looks like one. I avoided that release for good reason, but still wish I had one of those dang glasses.

    Confirming FLPlates2 is really fruity, on the verge of even tasting artificial. It's ok, but a 4oz was enough for me. The Alvarado St one on the other hand is great- must be the Tomahawk that's giving it some differentiation - but it's dank, oniony and strong citrus. Hope to pick up couple packs at 11:30am tmrw :slight_smile:

    Having a universal right now and it’s tasting waaay better than last weekend. Originally thought this latest monkish collab was a dud but getting better with age.

    Two full pallets of the collabs, Citra looked kinda low. I wouldn’t be surprised if the collabs make it to tomorrow. These beers must suck.

    Guess there is some kind of exhaustion with collabs. Either that or the hazebros are 1) sleeping off their hangover from the HVB release yesterday or 2) making sure they get their allocation of brisket at EQ.

    Or, Other Half is getting better at getting beer into more hands. There have been several very hyped releases over the last six weeks or so, and all of them you could have walked in after the line and picked up cans. I give them a lot of grief but I think they have been doing a pretty good job lately.

    What's EQ brisket look like on the secondary?

    Who they collab with really matters. They could likely do another monkish collab next weekend and people would go nuts even though we've just gotten 2 monkish collabs. Even if people think Tree House beer has fallen off, I'm sure it would be some kind of show if Tree House showed up for a collab. We haven't seen Trillium (or Tired Hands) around in a while.... I'm sure we'll see an EQ or HVB collab before the end of summer.

    In regard to HVB, I think separate release days is great for both breweries. There were a ton of people in line that had just been at HVB the day before.

    They're making a ton of beer. That's the biggest thing. It's awesome both collabs were double batches. When I saw them running low on wristbands I was worried I made a big mistake earlier in the week by predicting the collabs would be double batches. It's funny citra daydream was the limiting factor. While it was the first to go, I think the other two sold at much faster rates. It just helps there was twice as much.

    I think they underestimate how many people are thirsty for those regular beers like citra daydream or hop showers to be available on the reg. That midweek All Citra release a few weeks ago was one of the best releases yet!

    Other Half is definitely brewing the best beer they've ever brewed as well as more than they ever have!

    With that said, when they say, "Stay tuned...," they mean, "Stay tuned as we come up with new ways to display our contempt for locals."
