It was nice getting 11:00 slot for the Dinner release today. Nice leisurely drive up and back
As long as the weather cooperates that is

Agreed. I was actually shocked to find out they are doing such a major expansion. It seems other than Dinner and Lunch, their other beers aren't very popular. While I have had both Lunch and Dinner, I haven't had their other beers in awhile. Have things changed over the past couple of years? Or is it the same old stuff?

Same old stuff. Stouts don't age like they're supposed to and the newest addition to their lineup was a session IPA. Weak.

I think the conclusion is that we aren't the only people that drink (or don't drink) their beer. A lot of beer drinkers don't chase hype or haze.

Also, beer trends are year to year. Expansion and construction like that are multi-year processes. Three years ago MBC was near the top of the game in NE, so it wasn't unusual or illogical for them to be expanding production.

If they really wanted to expand production, they would get rid of their extortionate prices and antiquated format. Only then will many people actually consider buying their beers with any regularity.

I agree, you can find Peeper ale on tap at a ton of bars and restaurants around here.
IMHO Lunch is a wonderfully balanced, pretty close to perfect beer.
Dinner? what can you say? It's an amazing beer.
I can't wait until I crack open one on the 31st and get a whiff of that beer .

Something almost every "that batch was worse than the one I had three years ago" BAs never remembers.

If these beers didn't sell they wouldn't have the prominent shelf space they have in many stores. I can't ever recall having a beer from them I enjoy.

Cans would be great, and hopefully that will happen after expansion. Because they choose not to make hazy IPAs doesn't mean they are antiquated. It means they've decided not to chase the current fad in order to make a bunch of beer geeks crow about them for a month.

I’ve had most of their beers and have liked a few of them (lunch, another one, peeper). They aren’t something I feel is so great that I need to seek them out though. I don’t care that they aren’t hazy, I care that they are basically pint bottles that cost $7-9 in mass. Put it in 4 pack pint cans at a reasonable price and they would sell just as good as the competitors at your local store.

Asked them about that on Twitter and the answer was a REAL hard no.

Always been .They are so hung up on this format it's ridiculous. I get being pro-glass vessel but the excuse of a new bottling line being so out of bounds to thier mission is stupid. I haven't touched a MBC beer in years and won't again until I see at minimum 4 packs of 12 oz bottles.

Seems backwards that a brewery that purports to “do what’s right” and supports a number of environmental causes wouldn’t switch to a much more environmentally friendly / recyclable packaging.

Isn't glass Glass 100% recyclable and can also be recycled endlessly without loss in quality or purity? Why is everyone so hung up on the glass thing?

Don't mind glass at all. I do mind 1 pint glass bottles sold stand-alone for $6+ a piece. I've said it before in this thread, I'd buy the hell out of MO if it came in a regular 12oz 6pack in the $12-14 range.

Their other beers do not seem very popular because you haven't had these other beers in a while? Seems an accurate method to determine popularity/sales.
