It wasnt when i posted that, which was after open. It wasnt on the website at all until someone on facebook pointed that out after i made my comment. I'm happily surprised it was still available today and i picked some up, but i heard there were only 87 cases and a 1 case limit so i thought it would run out a lot sooner. I look forward to trying it and Marilyn soon.

is the Two Straws supposed to be the "Milkshake IPA" style that I'm hearing more and more about? I have zero idea what to think when I hear about it.

Yeah, "milkshake IPAs" are just IPAs with lactose and usually some type of flavor/fruits added. Two Straws is exactly that.

Tired Hands and Omnipollo really popularized the style with their "Milkshake" series.

Just to follow up for fellow #BiL folks out there, the 2018 Marilyn is great. Rye brings a lot of heat, and they still had the 2016 on tap as of Tuesday for comparison. The (2016) apple brandy was mild and sweet, drinks much lighter than 2018. I liked both better than the bottle of Titus Andronicus I picked up at the cellar sale a couple weeks ago; port is a great combo for barleywine but that stuff nearly knocked me out.

Gale still on tap and they had cans as of Tuesday when I last visited. As with all barleywine, it drinks much better with a full pour and enough time to warm up a bit. God bless Night Shift for bringing such an underappreciated style to their tap room.

Can't wait for weisse cans especially to have them be readily available.

I think the thing I'm most excited about with the weisse cans will be my ability to walk into the brewery, grab a couple of each, take a couple of cans of whatever the latest morph or ipa is, throw in a can or two of the newest dark beer, a couple of standards and have myself an awesome 12 pack for the weekend. Good times

I’ll echo really enjoying Buzz. Thought Two Straws was solid, but had noticeably less body compared to Tired Hands milkshakes which I feel are the benchmark for the style. Really excited for the canned weisses, love the new label art!

2018 Marilyn (aged in rye barrels) is phenomenal.

i cant wait to share some Marilyn with some friends now that i was able to pick my bottles up.

On a different note, as Night shift already knows i'm curious as to their pricing structure for 16oz weisses. Honestly the price increase of hive queen noted earlier from 12 to 22, makes me wonder how expensive their 16oz cans will be. Its one of those things where i feel like moving to a smaller format will increase $/oz like FW and their BA releases.

Cans will be $18 per 4 pack (or $4.5 per $16oz). This is roughly 35% LESS expensive per ounce than our 750ml pricing.

Was out and about Saturday and had a whirlpool for the first time in years. Man thats. a tasty brew.

However as far as mosaic pales go, I can get lizard king brought to me by night shift distro for $10 and whirlpool for $12. Hard sell.

Awesome to hear you loved the Whirlpool. Lizard King is a great beer and we love selling it around MA. While I don't personally know the costs to make Lizard King I can tell you that Whirlpool is a pricey beer to make. It has roughly the same amount of hops as Santilli and takes more labor too.

At any rate - either beer you chose is a win!

Yeah I've kinda become a big fan of some of the distro stuff you've been bringing to the state recently. I find it interesting to see that some of the beers would be considered, in my mind to be direct competitors to your own.

Anyway, too often im at your tap room looking for the latest morph or the newly released limited edition when I think I need to remember just how good some of the core beers are, I'll have to make sure I do my part to ensure the whirlpool or santllli sod this world don't get neglected

We aren't too worried about some of the beers directly competing with ours. We believe there is room in the market for more high quality craft beer. We also actively look for breweries that have different styles, branding, packaging and price points so that we can appeal to a wide range of accounts and customers. Like you pointed out our pale ale might price be to high for some but Pipeworks is priced perfectly. We can't match Pipeworks price point but we are happy to offer an awesome beer at a lower price point. Win win!

My fiance and I stumbled across Night Shift while visiting the Boston area, and I have to say we weren't disappointed. I'd heard of it before, but I wasn't even thinking about it when we planned a trip to Boston.

We ended up trying at least 6 different beers, and all of them were great. I wish we lived in the area and could visit more often.

Seems like a smart idea and something that is popping up more and more (Founders seems to have gone in big on the idea with Golden).

Given the snarkiness that is often aimed at newer craft drinkers who like fruity ipas/ pales ales though, I can only imagine the outrage if there's a huge influx of craft lite beer drinkers :stuck_out_tongue:

Not that I would expect you guys to care a whiff about any of that nonsense of course.
