Hell no. You know how you can tell when a movie is over promoted and under delivers? That's how I feel about these beers. Sixpoint hasn't put out an awesome neipa yet. You think they're going to do it with Denali and Idaho 7? Good luck.

I had that quote in mind when I was typing

I found your beer sweet, I believe you when you say a lot of people did not. STAY POSTED for the upcoming review. I'm going try to like this can more than my last, wish me luck.

Well we have a lot in common then. We're both pioneers, as you also represent the minority, outlier opinion. It feels lonely sometimes, but at least we have each other. :-)

I apologize if I misread, but was it this release or the next that was going to have multiple locations for pickup? I thought it was this one.

It is actually the next one, but the ability to layer in multiple locations was implemented in version 4.3 of the app.

However, our first alternate location is not going to be in the NYC area, as it doesn't make initial sense to do that as any place outside of the brewery is still going to be subject to the regulations of the normal tiers of distribution. So our first release outside of Red Hook will actually be in a far remote location....on the opposite coast actually.

Pending a successful trial with this program, we will be keen to seeing how we can work within the existing regulatory framework to bring this to a wider scale. If there were no legal entanglements, we would have already scaled the reach of this to a much wider audience...but as you are probably well aware, we are somewhat hobbled by legislature here.

Based on an email I got from Belmont Station, it looks like the other pickup is going to be in Portland, OR? Will that be a consistent location for all further releases, or will it vary month to month? Selfishly I would love a consistent Portland location, as I have family there, and visit frequently.

Thanks! Dumb question, is the release party held inside the brewery or outdoors? I'm seeing some pictures from previous releases and it appears to be outdoors.

It's under a giant tent in a courtyard of sorts with heaters spread around while the "not taproom" is being built.

I'm partial to calling it the quaffing quadrangle, myself.

While that makes sense, it is definitely a bummer for locals who want to try the small batches but can’t make the limited window of picking up the beer.

thanks for your help Rob. Last one - do you have to preorder beer to get in? Or is it open to the public? A couple buddies and I are doing a bit of a BK brewery crawl and are interested in checking out Sixpoint since they only open for these releases.

I've gone before without preordering anything.

The door guy usually asks to see that you've downloaded the app. This might change with the advent of them assembling your order as you arrive, but given how friendly they are, I'd be surprised if they turned a small group away.

FWIW, there are 3 V Righteous six packs available, if you want to avoid doubt. Nice souvenir to take with you and split amongst the friends.

We generally reserve entry for those who preordered items through the app, but there is nothing preventing you from ordering items now via the app or upon your arrival. The beers may be sold out, but you could always order a merch item. Fwiw we always have crowlers and other items for sale on site; you wouldn't necessarily walk away empty-handed.

The reason why we can't let just anyone walk in is that could conceivably take away the opportunity for those who preordered items to come in and enjoy themselves. The space itself has a capacity, and right now we coordinate the production quantities on par with the operating capacity of the space itself. This is done in mind to keep the customer experience enjoyable and without frustrating things like long lines for beer samples and other services. Thank you for your understanding.

Speaking of which, what is the tap and crowler list looking like?

Yeah, a group might be tough. It gets pretty crowded in their space, but still a fun time.

I'm putting that information together now; should have it soon.

Oh and btw - not that I don't enjoy manually fetching and retrieving this info for you every time, we are going to be implementing this feature directly into the app, most likely in 4.4 or 4.5 !!!

1-3 days before the actual event, we will update the app with a full tap list, and it will have the name of the beer, product description, ABV, IBU, and any other relevant details. We also are going to layer in a crowler pre-order function, so this will allow you to secure your crowler beforehand for pickup at the event.

oh...and one more thing....we have a really awesome release planned for this Spring/Early Summer....our first-of-its-kind format for these releases, and will only be available to people like you, @frozyn @BoardwalkBock @balto22 and the others who have reached "Mad Scientist" status. More on that later, but it will be a rewards system for your early adoption and continued loyalty...

    cheers
