I was thinking about doing the same thing. I'm not real huge on some quads, except those that drink more like a barleywine (stickee monkee, wizard burial ground). However, I really enjoy some of the flavors that seem to only come out with age.

Just a reminder from your friendly neighborhood Short's fan: Superfluid is ending its run as a seasonal release, so grab some while you can! Just a few short years ago I felt lucky to grab a handful of bottles, now you can get a six pack for 9.99!

Obliviate wasn't bad fresh and definitely hits the style, but the belgiain yeast was a little dominate for my liking. Looking forward to see what age will do to this one. I had a evil urges with around 2 years on it and it was incredible (again was not crazy about evil urges fresh). Hoping obliviate ages as well as the evil urges

Anyone else notice Hopheadherman/sean from shorts is MIA? Also just seen that most excellent stellar will be in V.2 variety pack. That's good news.

Yeah, kinda surprised that they haven't released details for the next variety pack yet. It's slated for March through April availability on the release schedule. @ScottatShorts @SeanfromShorts

I hate to speculate, but Sean doesn't show up on the People page for Short's and his last login was almost a month ago. They may have parted ways.

Just posted a "Short" while ago on their FB page, the something new to the variety pack: "New Style! " Please excuse the screenshot, I don't personally use FB but the wife keeps me abreast of news.

Well that's crappy, gonna miss his insight into the company, if that's true but I figured since we haven't seen him in a while it might be something like that... @ScottatShorts Any insight?

I do miss me some Evil Urges. I hope we see some BBA Evil Urges later this year in the Elk Rapids Bomber Series.

Here's the full line up for the next Variety Pack! Should be coming in April:

Most Excellent Stellar (9.5% ABV – 80 IBU) is a Double IPA brewed with exclusively Amarillo hops. Copper colored with a large white heard and beautiful lacing, this beer carries huge citrus aromas. Well balanced from the simple malt bill, grapefruit flavors are the star of this beer. Medium bodied and finishing slightly warm from the alcohol, Most Excellent Stellar is an exemplary big brother to Stellar Ale.

London Fog (6.8% ABV – 12 IBU) is a medium-bodied English Brown Ale made with Earl Grey Tea. Notable herbal aromatics including a light citrus spice and a touch of mint are evident from first sniff. Pleasing fruity flavors of peach and raspberry result from the interesting union of malt sweetness and bold tea. A sprinkling of vanilla and milk sugar provide a rich creaminess that coats the palate. Surprisingly, the finish contains only a mild lingering sweetness despite the array of flavors up front.

New Style (5.3% ABV – 75 IBU) is a dry-hopped Bavarian Lager with Mandarina and Huell Melon hops brewed in celebration of 7 Monks 6th Anniversary. With a clear straw color and prominent white head, this beer has aromas and notes of citrus, strawberry, honeydew, and bready malt. New Style is very crisp and clean with initial flavors of florals and a slightly spicy backdrop from the German noble hops. Light bodied, this beer this beer finishes dry with a slight bitterness.

Purest Form (7.7% ABV – 35 IBU) is an Oatmeal Stout served on nitro. Dark black in color with a thick, nitrogen induced head, this Oatmeal Stout smells first of chocolate and oats followed by just a hint of roast. Full bodied and velvety smooth, this Purest Form has decadent flavors of chocolate and lightly roasted malt.

Nice variety pack, good to see London Fog again.
And we've previously seen the labels for Fog, Stellar, and New Style but we've yet to behold the wonder that is the Purest Form artwork. Well, here ya go:

I'm pretty excited for this one finally dropping in bottles. This was one of the first Short's brews I had at the pub and I haven't had it since.

They’ve bottled it twice before, but it’s been quite awhile.

What will be shelf / fridge life of PB&J? Aging is probably not an option because of peanuts, right?

    Yay! London Fog!!!

Also, never had the chance to try Purest Form at the Pub, so excited for that. Can't wait to see what the other 5 variety packs have in store for us this year.

It's time to double yer pleasure ,and double yer fun, 'cause there's TWO

    NEW BEERS UP!

First from Short's Twitter feed, 13irteen...

[BEER RELEASE] 13irteen (8.7 ABV, 30 IBU) is a dry hopped American Sour Ale with black currants. Flavors of tart black currant coat the palate before a finish that is very dry with just a touch of citrus and a slight bitterness.

Also, from the website, Vieux Rouge
    [IMG]

Vieux Rogue is a Private Stache release, so getcher butt to the pub to grab a bottle.
