I hear what you guys are saying. But they've had 17 total years and 17 versions of the fest and 10+ months since the last fest to iron out all the details. Why wait so long to release info or sell tickets? I honestly don't get it??? Other fests for August and September 2018 are currently on-sale with bands booked and bottle pick-up options detailed. There is no other fest (beer or music) that takes so long to get info, and that info consistently changes even after release. Why is that?

3Floyds has been around for 21 (or is it 22) years now (I think), and this is DLD's 11th year of actual festival. But your questions is legit: why the delay to announce details. Who knows, and we likely will never find out. My guess is that they don't really care what you or I think is reasonable or should be done. They know all tickets will be sold out in a matter of an hour, if that. I've just come to accept that approach and enjoy the whole ride. DLD is easily my favorite festival of the year. Nothing quite like it.

 

This is literally how it happens pretty much ever year in terms of timing. If a couple weeks go by and nothing happens, that's when it's time to really worry...probably.

It's 3 Floyds - they do their own thing. If you don't like it, you can move on to something else.

 

With the changes to DLD they are having major zoning problems that need to be ironed out quickly in order to accommodate the jousting horses and clothing optional areas....

 

Both of those sound terrifying given the state of the typical attendees.
