Multiple allotments have always been easy to get if you really wanted them. Wristbands change nothing in that department.

Sadly, RFID wrist band will be the most enjoyable band of the day...

Ugh. That’s a bummer. Having credit cards is really going to slow the lines down. I was pumped for the braclet only.

If you bought 2 tickets/lanyards last year you got in line, got your allotment, put on a new lanyard, got back in line, and got a second allotment.

    Seems pretty easy, no?

If the lanyard system is gone where they tear off the ticket, what would stop someone from just putting on the second wristband and going through again?

Could someone show up alone, enter the fest, get an allotment, leave the fest, change clothes if necessary and then re-enter with the second wristband?

PPPSHHHA, that'll never work. They have facial recognition cameras at each entrance. If your face does not match the RFID bracelet that was scanned you are out. Now if you can do a quick facial reconstruction, then you'll easily get two allotments.

If you're trying to re-enter with your 'guest' wristband, you must enter the fest with the person whose name is attached to purchase of ticket. You won't be able to re-enter with your 'guest' wristband by yourself.

But I suppose if you AND your friend both bought tickets and kept the guest passes, first time you could enter with one using their ticket and the other person as guest, and then once you collect your bottles you could re-enter the second time with his/her ticket and you as guest.

Seems annoying as hell and a waste of money, but to each their own.

I'm not doing that shit. I'm doing it the old fashioned way as it was intended: mule/fiance.

Not entirely sure, but I think it was Donald Rumsfeld who said, "There are known Dark Lord Day knowns; there are things we know we know about Dark Lord Day. We also know there are known Dark Lord Day unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know about Dark Lord Day. But there are also unknown Dark Lord Day unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know about Dark Lord Day. And if one looks throughout the history of our festival and other beer festivals, it is the latter category that tend to be the most fun, broseph."

    Welcome to the shitshow. :sunglasses:

I think that's going to be a lot of people's solution to the 72 oz. carry in limit as well.

Daily Dark Lord Ticket Day preparations are under way. The F5 button is performing flawlessly, the computers and mobile devices are at peak performance, the Wi-Fi remains strong under the pressure from multiple wireless devices, bottled water and food rations are prepared and sealed properly, debit card properly funded with back-up credit card ready, metal music playlist loaded up...hope I'm not missing anything...

At the other end of the spectrum is me, who will be on a flight from LA to Chicago while these go on sale. I land in Chicago at 12:55 on the 31st. I’m just hoping Southwest has decent enough WiFi for me to try and get tickets - I have no way to prepare for it at all. The 31st is pretty much the worst day they could’ve picked for me.

If it doesn’t work out, I’ll be hoping to do the in person ticket route at the pub if/when they do that.

Band update: Todd Haug will be playing with Canyon of the Skull. So far they are the only band confirmed.
