I don't sell beer, I drink it. So it can be a deciding factor for me.

I can't imagine this year will be as hard as previous years. Last year knocked the whole strategy out of whack since being in A didn't matter unless you wanted to leave early. C, D, and E were readily available for quite a while. I stay all day so E is quite all right with me

I was thinking this, but still didn’t expect tickets to be available for an hour. We’ll see on the 31st!

Yep, I'll be right in the middle of getting assassin bottles when they go on sale. I have a friend who will try and get me a ticket though. Good luck man

Is everyone just going to press the “Best Available” button? I mean, I’d prefer an earlier group just so I can get my bottles earlier, but I’m cool with any group. I usually try for best available and end up with group B.

Naw, my botnet is programmed to crash the website at noon, and then I’ll saunter in at 12:08 to get the primo group tickets.

Ha! I thought I was following the thread to a T, guess not. I think the Kingdom vs Canyon is what threw me off. Pig Destroyer will be excellent again - I had been been thinking it would make a lot of sense for At the Gates to play. Maybe not with Pig Destroyer on the bill. We'll see!

The new wrist band process may be confusing for newbies with all the new terminology being thrown around. Just to clarify:

"RFIDs "stands for Radio Frequency Identification and can be commonly found on your wrist.

    Not to be confused with:

"Our FIBs" which stands for people from Illinois that can be commonly found on your bumper....

I am looking to attend DLD for the first time this year, so pardon my ignorance. What is the benefit for being in an earlier group? Less waiting? Or just being done with the pickup portion of the day and free to drink and enjoy the fest without having to get back in a line in the afternoon?

Grammatically, this should be “fewer waiting”

It used to be earlier groups had best chance at most sought after variants. Now it shouldn’t matter (pending change).

Now, you get your stuff early and have to guard it from thieves and drunkards all day.

But early morning share is the whale party, so...

It used to be first come first served in terms of choosing your variant. People used to go for Group A because there was a strong chance at getting the coveted Handjee. Now since it's random, the only benefits to getting an earlier group is being doing with bottle pick-up at an earlier time.

I usually go for A because I love the big sharez before opening of the fest. But group B would be fine for me as well... although honestly, I've stayed to the very end last 2 of 3 years so it really doesn't matter all that much. I'll still probably go for A out of habit.

And the earlier you go, the less likely you are to get drunk, pass out, and miss your allotment all together

Unless you're me this year. I have the step-daughter's graduation to attend. I'll shoot over from there to DLD. Looking at a 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm arrival. For the first time I actually want/need a group D or E ticket. The previous three years I've been group A or B.

i think group d or e would be great as long as you can keep your shit together and not pass out/forget your allotment. You can enjoy the fest all day without having to lug your heavy ass tote around and keep it safe from all the thieving bastards that attend DLD. Then when you are ready to leave you get in line, get your tote, and get the hell out of there.

Ya'll realize that if you get Group D or E you can just like.....come late, right?

That's what I'm doing...but out of necessity. I see your point though. If you end up with a later group ticket and you don't want to be there all day or don't want to chance getting wrecked...just show up later. The party runs til 9.

Site also states if you miss your assigned group you can simply jump in line for a later group letter through close. Kind of a nice perk if you get a really early pick up window and don't want to deal with lugging bottles around all day. Just go later - as long as you are not one of the ones sleeping on the grass after 3pm.
