How about PVW BA DL?

 

The Pap is overrated...but BADL of any kind should def be on there. Sometimes addtl ingredients are really superfluous.

 

Pappy BA was past it's prime when I got to try it, but I've heard it was incredible fresh.... BA DL will surely be available as well as Muerte. They're staples at this point which is why I omitted them from my list.

And in regards to Pappy van Weewillywinky...I just think the bourbon series itself is overrated, and doesn't ever really impart a drastically unique character to any beers aged in its barrels, as opposed to other barrels from quality distilleries or bourbons. It's just another status symbol liquid that gets the Chinese to spend tens of thousands per bottle.

Isn't Vanilla/Handjee a staple at this point as well? Maybe there was a change when they made it into Handjee that I'm not aware of, though.

My wish list this year:

2. try a dark lord variant

 

If only 3 Floyds listened to it's fans... this guy gets it.

 

I just felt like reiterating that Handjee is a must. Don't really care if BA and Muerte aren't made this year, but would be very dissapointed if Handjee wasn't on the variant list.

I'll agree that Handjee is a must (even though I won't get it ), but I'd say BADL is as well. I only had it once, but it was amazing. Had it the same night as Handjee, and BADL didn't cower to the competition (unlike BA Abraxas that we had that night). Handjee was clearly better, but BADL '16 was fantastic.

I do love your variant wish list, though. Basically, get a bunch of rum and bourbon barrels...put DL in it...put some non-cardamom adjuncts in it...make everyone happy.

 

I feel like DL is already sweet enough and we dont need a maple version...

 

I prefered the FVM over HJ, thats just my opinion though.

 

That's why you need a strong coffee to cut the sweetness.

-S' More Handjee (graham cracker chocolate Henna/BVDL blend)
-The Earl of Bourbon von County (GI BCBS/ BA DL blend aged with tang)
-Imperial Smells like Guernica (Mikerphone Cinnamon Smells Like Bean Spirit/Port Barrel DL aged with Poached Pears)
-Norseman's Delight (Half Acre Benthic/Scotch Barrel Dark Lord aged with sardines)
