Since joining BAs two years and a half ago, I’ve had about 300 new beers. About 50% Americans, 35% Belgians and the rest from various other countries (The UK, Germans, Czech etc).

I live in an appartement though and keeping them all became impossible.

So here are to me some outstanding or world class beers I kept :

Founders, Unibroue, Stone, Dieu du ciel!, Prairie, 3F, Cantillon, and other Belgians Trappist or otherwise.

Got a beer bottle collection? Show it off !

Here's a collage photo of my collection that is displayed in my basement man cave, followed by several closeups of some of the pics that make up the collage. There are around 1,300 bottles on display (I think it's 55' of shelves), and I have about another 1,000 bottles in boxes because I ran out of room but stupidly kept saving them. Yes, it is a disease, so don't save them unless you can control your numbers and have a bunch of space to display them.

Disease or not, it's an awesome display.
I've said it before, but you are my #1 defense when my gives me any crap about the amount of "collectibles" I have in the bar/man cave.

Very cool, and orderly display w/ great thought instilled. I like how you harness the mouth of the bottles using the bottom of the shelves directly above them.

Boring a recessed space for each bottle in the underside of each shelf was a ton of work, but I thought it would prevent breakage. My experience has been that no one ever comes close to brushing up against them (and we have no earthquakes of any concern here in Michigan), so I've never had a broken bottle. The downside of exact shelf-height spacing and that boring is that each shelf is designated for a certain sized bottle, which in reality didn't happen with my beer purchases so that some shelves have 12-oz. bottles sitting on a space that was designed for a bomber bottle.

Not really a collection (especially compared to the posts above!) but I do keep bottles that I like the look of in my cave/spare room.

I have to post the pics of my beer collection again because the third party image hosting site screwed me:

Specifically to avoid hoarding too many containers, I have set apart two limited spaces for cans and bottles that I do not exceed and only keep my absolute favorites and cult classics.

If I manage to get a hold of something I wanna display, something else has to go. This arrangement also helps with not getting murdered in my sleep by my girlfriend :stuck_out_tongue:.

Oh, and there's also a subtle hint as to where my username comes from.

Oh, by the way, @Shanex: I still have pristine empty containers of Heady Topper, Focal Banger and BCBS Rare in a cupboard somewhere that I just couldn't bring myself to throw away. Would you be interested in those?

Jawohl if they are full bottles.

Seriously though I appreciate the offer but I won’t make you ship from Germany empty bottles...

You apparently have some amazing trading partners. It's great to see that a Michigan-brewed M-43 made it to Germany.

All right, I just thought they might make for cool display objects . I seriously can't bring myself to simply throw them away...

While I did actually get that one from a trade, M-43 and Boss Tweed were actually available from a few different European online shops a while ago. I don't have any regular trade partners though, I just got lucky a few times .
