Info/release details on Who Cooks for You?

I was able to try the reformulated Grave this week, though I unfortunately I never had the previous versions. That said, I thought it was still recognizable as a Jackie O's IPA. The haze was pretty minimal on the pour I got and I'd say the most distinguishing feature of it was the amount of smoothness and lack of bitterness for an IPA that big and complex. I find debates about what is or isn't a real NEIPA pretty tiresome, but in this case I'm glad it wasn't an extreme divergence from their other IPAs. Of course, that may be a disappointment for people expecting something more along the lines of Hoof.

Also I thought Spectacle was extremely tasty and it's one of my favorites to come out of the sour program so far for sure.

@beace Drinking this latest batch of Oro Negro, my god well done! I’ve had a lot of your beer, but the finish on this with the heat it’s sublime. Thank you!

I haven't had the new version of Grave but when I tried the first batch I remember being very surprised at how smooth and drinkable it was for such a big IPA.

2 new beers dropping tomorrow in Athens:

    Double Barrel Oil of Aphrodite
Double Barrel Oil of Aphrodite was aged in bourbon barrels for 8 months and then transferred into apple brandy barrels, where it rested for another 8 months.

    6/person/location
    no distro
    80 cases

    CA CRV
A blend of Perpetum, our Berliner Weisse inspired mixed culture sour ale, and a three-year-old wine barrel aged sour blond ale. The blend was then conditioned on grape skins, second-use blackberries, and third-use black raspberries
    .
    12/person/location
    California only distro

Hmmm... both of these are tempting. I need to start cracking into my infection pile soon.

Heard a rep talking today saying Double Barrel Oil might hit distro.

With only 80 cases made....highly highly doubtful

Yea - usually "very limited" state wide distro was around 80-100 cases usually iirc

I really don't get the out of state stuff they're trying to do. Granted a lot of the sours/wilds sit on shelves a quite a bit, but still. A Cali-only beer?

You can buy it at Jackie O’s in Athens. So not Cali only

Yeah I get that, I actually pulled together my exchange list today and got one reserved, so I'm happy to be able to try one. Still an interesting move.

Agreed, a little disappointing the sour isn't hitting distro in Ohio. Sounds pretty good.

DB Oil seems to be running light at the taproom already. Down to 20ish cases. I know they sent some uptown, not sure of the situation up there.

My understanding is they split 80 cases between the taproom and public house. It seems like the taproom will run out tonight.

DB Oil exceeded my expectations. Same fantastic AB character as the anny Dark App cohesively on top of everything that was already amazing about BA Oil.

Who Cooks is excellent. I really hope that beer makes it into the regular rotation, or is at least brought back for summer.
