overhyped as it relates to the style or overhyped relative to local peers?

Both, I think. I've enjoyed IPAs from Noon Whistle, Mikerphone, Saint Errant, More, Hop Butcher and others just as much, and in many cases more than Corridor brews. Beers in the style from outside breweries I have enjoyed MUCH more. I have tried many of Corridor's IPAs and other offerings. They're fine. They are good beers. But around here people talk of Corridor like it is liquid gold.

@dubo09 any update on Neon Party? I've been slacking and want to try it before it kicks.

Just cracked a crowler now and you don’t want to miss out. This one is delicious, literally liquid gold.

It’s all about personal preference. Imo corridor is the best at that style in Chicago.

Neckbeards might enjoy the actual NE originated beers more but they aren’t too far above some of the offerings here.

Corridor is probably my pick for best in the city as well. The thing is, like everything else, this boils down to preference. If you like a slightly drier, grainier (for lack of a better term) style, Corridor is the way to go. If you want a super smooth, sweeter style, FR is fantastic, and a lot of the other local options fall somewhere in between.

My pick for the best in the city as well.

Speaking for myself they're best combination of quality, variety and availability.

Availability is subjective as it's easy for me to just hop the brown line, fill a growler and be home all within 30 minutes. But also love, love, love that it's never been a challenge to get a glass/crowler/growler of any of their brews.

Corridor #1 for me as well with FR right behind.

Really hard to top their consistency and availability. Neon Party was excellent.

Forbidden Root distributes and makes more than 100- 4 packs of one beer. I don't understand that.

You can walk in and buy a crowler of whatever came out for a few weeks versus some places that you have to show up release day or else it is all gone....that's availability. Sure FR distributes, but does it sit on shelves or disappear from stores fast?

You can get growler/howler fills and it sits at the brewery long enough to where you can to pick some up a few days after. Cans disappear in an hour or two at Corridor.

In order for me to get corridor's beer, I have to physically go to the southport corridor to get it. Forbidden Root has other options. I like Corridor's beers but I don't think is more accessible than FR, personally.

It’s widespread but temporary availability vs isolated but guaranteed availability. Are we just looking for a fight? Has Sister Jean taught us nothing?
