HEY BA'S in Las Vegas. Gonna do 3 days in Vegas, staying at the "Mirage", so tell me about killer beers, especially D/IPA's I can get there, like some West Coast beers I don't normally find in Texas. Like "Russian River" Pliny's? Thank You for sharing your knowledge.

Russian River doesn't distribute to Nevada. Your best bet is going to be finding the Mikkeller San Diego cans or Modern Times around shops like Khoury's Fine Wine.

It's somewhat outdated at this point, but do check out our beer travel guide for Vegas.

If you're staying on the strip area, you're probably going to need a cab/uber/lyft to get to one of the better bottle shops. There are plenty of so-so to good beers around in little shops, but the best retail options you'll find on the strip are probably the larger drug stores. That's not saying much. The Whole Foods south the Mandalay is probably the closest legitimately good beer store. It's maybe 2 miles south of the strip, so a Lyft is only like $5-10.

If you're just looking for good beer to drink on premises, Public House, Burger Bar, Todd English's PUB, and Beerhaus will serve you well. Crafthaus, and Joseph James cans should be available at most casino shops. Modern Times is around, but availability is weird. Harrah's (roughly across the street from the Mirage) has a little shop with 5-6 different varieties, though.

I'm headed to Las Vegas as well. Are there any local FB groups or anything?

If you're on the strip and don't have time/means to go too far off strip, check out the hidden gem of Pub 365 inside the Tuscany. They have a great tap list and have all the local breweries on tap too.

I’ll be visiting Vegas this weekend. I’ll be visiting family so I won’t have time to go to bars. I’m looking for good bottle shops. I know of khoury’s, where else is good?

    Thanks!

You can find alot of gems at Total Wine in the shopping area by Whole Foods, not too far south of Mandalay Bay.

Last time was there, TAP sports bar inside MGM had some good beers on tap, including Mikkeller SD, which we don't get here in AZ. Also, TAG inside The Linq had some good bottle/can offerings. Beware, they won't comp the good stuff.

I'll be back next week and plan to hit those spots again.

    Hello everyone!

I'm going to piggy back off of this. I am coming to Vegas in a week. One of the afternoons we want to do either Tenaya Creek then either Eureka!/Park on Fremont then Bangers. My questions is should we skip Tenaya Creek and head to hop nuts instead? Or keep the original plan. I am more into hoppy beers so that's why I may have thought hop nuts but I am a sucker for a nice taproom and that is the reason behind checking out Tenaya Creek.

Also, is Bangers/Eureka!/Park on Fremont walkable from Tenaya Creek/Hop Nuts as the centrally located destination? I am coming from Chicago where I don't really drive anywhere and walk/take public trans everywhere so I can't really gauge how far things are in DTLV.

    Thank you for your help!

Due to construction and not so good neighborhoods, walking is not an option between Downtown and Tenaya Creek and Hop Nuts, take a cab or public bus. Also downtown within walking distance from Banger is 777 Brewpub at Main Street Station and East Chicago at 4 Queens.

Also within walking distance is one of my faves in the area, Atomic:

Tenaya Creek’s beers are not very good. Hop Nuts is much better; however, Tenaya has a newer, nicer facility and they have quite a few guest taps that are quality (like 15). Hop Nuts has 4 guest taps and usually not as good.

Tenaya Creek’s is in a really bad area but their place is gated off, which is good because there are a bunch of homeless people down there. Nothing else around except the tap room. Parking is easy.

Hop Nuts is in a better area although still not great. It is adjacent to a coffee shop that is pretty good and a popular Mexican restaurant. Lot of construction on their street though so takes a while to get in and out and parking is a pain.

Can anyone help me locate some Modern Times cans in Las Vegas? Are they around regularly?

What sort of Modern Times? Core line up is everywhere. General seasonal releases will be found at Khory’s, Total Wine, etc. If you’re looking for something specific or more limited, you’re best bet is actually a few Speedee Marts, but they go quickly so timing is key.

We're staying at the Bellagio this weekend; just looking to pick up a few cans while we're there. Core IPAs are fine; especially if I can nab them within walking distance; any suggestions there?

Willing to trek to a speedee mart or something else relatively close if there's something coming out right now that I should be seeking out; any suggestions there would be great as well...

    Thanks!

I’ve never looked for anything directly on the strip, but again Modern Times core stuff is everywhere, including grocery stores. So I’d imagine some of the random liquor stores on the strip would have it.

Close to the strip, likely needing a ride, there’s Total Wine in Town Square and Whole Foods right there usually has some hidden gems too.

I think there’s a Liquor World right around the Hooters Casino that should have some good stuff too.
