So it looks like Magic Hat is releasing it's Heart of Darkness stout as a winter seasonal. Brewery page This is one of the beers that really got me into craft beer (at the time it was 'microbreweries0' back in the mid 90's. Like their Ravell and original releases of Blind Faith, I was really disappointed when they cut it from regular release. I saw some at a place I stopped at to see if there were any storm-worthy beers to pick up, so I grabbed a 6er. If it's anything like I remember it, I'll try to find more. If it disappoints me like many of their releases / rereleases have lately.... well...
Popped one open. You're right, the mouthfeel is a bit thinner than I seem to remember ( of course, that was before Dark Lord, KtG etc all.) Still very good. Will need to pick up more when I see it.
had a 6 pack over the weekend,thin is an understatement!!...and had a slight sour taste on the back end,never shall I try this again
