I’ve seen Lunch and Peeper show up at a couple shops up here. That’s it so far. Hoping to come across Another One. Haven’t tried that one yet.

How are they tasting? I hope nothing like the Jai Alai bomb? The last time I had anything Maine was 2 years ago? It’s good to see the bottles showing up. Draft has been showing up in south OC about a year and half ago. But this is the first I seen in north OC.

Have not cracked a bottle yet, but it is coming from MBC and not a contract brewery, so I would expect it to taste just as good as expected. Yeah, we had draft a while ago too, we figured it was a test to see if they could distribute and succeed in this market.

Been a few times for hoppy hour on way home from lax. But my go to stop hoppy hour place would be Beachwood SB. I haven't been to Brix or whatever they are called these days in a couple of years. Right before the previous owner sold the place it was on the unreality show Bar Rescue. The tap selection was okay to good 3+ years ago. I drive by it everyday on way home. I'll stop by RiiP instead these days. Closer to drive home.

Edit: I was talking about the Sunset Beach location. Gomenasi...sorry mate.

Had lunch when I got off work yesterday. Dated 2/27. Fairly disappointed. Not a bad beer by any means but it felt more thin and had a cracker malt taste that I don't recall it having. Granted the last (and only) time I had it it was fresher and 3ish years ago.

Rev’s Battle of the Lords is on at BT’s BBQ. Not sure how much longer it’ll be on for. It was tapped a couple of days ago. I’m heading there for lunch in a few.

It's only a 1/6 bbl, so the time is definitely limited

It’s good. I brought a can of MT Stencil Crew to share at BT’s. SC was definitely more juicier than the BotL on draft. Also had a pint of the Fiddler to wash down the haze. Even better. The baby backs was perfect today.

Got a 4 pack, just OK for me. I'd really like to see some Dig My Earth again, it's been awhile.

Planning a trip up to LA this weekend, I've got a rough idea of what I'm doing but I've got a couple questions:
    1) For DTLA area, I've got Highland Park Chinatown, Modern Times, Mikkeller DTLA, Arts District, Mumford, and Indie Brewing (haven't heart much about them, might stop in if we have time) for beer spots. Am I missing anything essential in that area?
    2) Food recommendations for DTLA? I've got a few spots in mind but open to suggestions.
    3) Anything specific between the DTLA area and the El Segundo area I should make sure to stop at?

For DTLA food, you should at least walk through Grand Central Market--lots of great options. I'm also a big fan of Sonoratown, especially their chivichanga (yes, with a "v.")

Did this trip two weekends ago. Take a look for a thread I started a few weeks back for food recommendations. Everyone was really helpful.

    Our trip:
MT for brunch, everything was excellent, especially for vegan food. They also serve all the beers as soon as they open. Wasn’t too crowded when we arrived at 10:30, but it supposedly get crowded later. There’s also a Whole Foods up the street if you want to go stuff.

Mikkeller’s offerings food/beer wise we’re “meh.” While they did have a decent bottles list, everything had a 30% mark up from retail, including their own bottles, which made no sense. My first time at any Mikkeller, so the “meh” and pricing was disappointing.

Really impressed with Mumford drink offerings, and apparently you can order from the restaurant next door for food (didn’t get anything).

HPB food and drinks were also great.

We stopped off at Phillipe’s for the original french dip sandwhich on the way back to the station. The food was ok. I’d recommend looking elsewhere for later evening eats.

I’d skip Arts District and more time at the Dojo, Mumford or HPB Chinatown. I thought Angel City’s beers were bad. Arts was worse IMO. But the building is nice and they do have food. I would recommend ESBC if you have the time. Or Firestone Walker Venice.
Our 2 cent....Mumford > Dojo >Mikkeller > Angel City and/or Arts. Went back to Dojo after disappointing Arts. Chinatown wasn’t open at the time.

The only time I really ever go to Mikkeller is on Monday/Tuesday when they have $15 flights. Otherwise, yeah, their prices can be pretty insane.

$15 for a sausage with no sides is pretty off-putting too. If you're hungry I'd recommend just skipping food there and walk next door to Birdies to get the spicy chicken sandwich after a few pints.

Headed to LA in a week. Looking to get some BA opinions on places to eat. Anywhere from street food to chef's tasting menus is cool. I'll be staying in the UCLA area, but I'll have a rental car.

Presuming you're looking for places that have beer, or beer close by, either one of the Highland Park Brewery locations have good-to-great food, with the Hermosillo location having an elote quesadilla that many BAs adore. But what I like even more is getting pizza at Triple Beam, about 1.5 miles from Hermosillo, then driving a couple minutes over to have a few beers. That's just one of a million options; I'm sure you'll get plenty of other recommendations. One other thing, and maybe you know this, but having a car doesn't necessarily make it easy to get around L.A. Try to plan your days around specific geographies, like NE L.A., downtown, the beaches, etc.
