We got there right before they opened up the gates to the holding pen last year. Parking down the street in the industrial complex was like half full. One parking lot was $25 and one was $30. Went with the $25 as the extra 300 foot walk didn't seem worth $5 .

We got there at around 8:30 last year and parked in the same industrial park. Think it was $20/25.

What about bringing bad stuff. What’s the worst that could happen? No one wants to drink your bad beer? Will everyone know it’s bad? Maybe not until they try it. Good way to clear some refrigerator space (and get blacklisted from future sharing)!

I just want one of you to skip the cup/lanyard option and hook up a funnel to a hat, with a sign saying “can’t stop won’t stop.”

Last sentence is the kicker! I dont want to be the jerk off with shitty beer to share. I dont exactly live in a place where whalez are easily obtainable.

That being said, I have some decent stuff in the cellar. I should be fine. I also have some time to work on it.

There’s a lot of tickers that are happy to drink what you’ve brought if they’ve never had it. Don’t overthink it. Don’t break your cellar trying to obtain something legendary to share. Solid locals speak to people as well. If there’s someone who is a dick to you about what you have to offer, fuck them. I drank more beers at DLD from local spots that I’ve never heard of that were fine beers.

And after the first 45 min here’s how I will describe every single beer.

    “That was pretty good”

So true. Literally everyone has the same idea in the morning (myself included)...bust out the big coffee stouts. Then after like two hours of that out come the pastry stouts that everyone shits themselves over but can't really taste right cuz of the coffee and the drunkness. Then sprinkle in some hazy stuff in colorful cans inbetween. By like noon everything basically tastes the same. My sister in law brought her favorite beer...Crystal Lake Blonde. She opened one can at like 2 o'clock and by 2:15 the six pack was gone. People were so glad to have something light and refreshing that wasn't trying to **** their taste buds. Honestly bring something local, bring a whalzbro beer or be a hipster and bring PBR. 99% of people will take your pour, thank you and return the favor. Beware of the dick with one 12 oz of KBBS who is sitting there waiting for people to grovel at his feet so he can shit on whatever u are offering and refuse u a pour. Other than that guy, everyone is cool and drunk and happy.

Out of the 4 years I have been I think last year was the first year my group had some people be "too good" for a beer we had. I believe it was one of the Beltching Beaver Peanut Butter Stouts that we had just opened, and after everyone in our group got a pour I was offering some to basically anyone in the vicinity. Had some takers and had some politely turn it down. Then there was one group that was just awful....something along the lines of "We don't want any of your weak shelf beers." And "Don't come looking for pours when you have stuff like that." I was slightly taken aback by that, as I have never run into people react to a beer offer that way at DLD. But whatever, joke was on them when we "didn't have enough" Barrel Aged Sump for them.

But as everyone else has said 99% of the people there will gladly take anything you offer, and will gladly offer whatever they brought! It is great!

I haven't noticed but I don't think anyone has posted about not being able to get DLD tickets this year? Did anyone miss out?

There is a fine line when it comes to trying shelf beers though. If you accept every beer offered to you (like I did my 1st year) you won't survive. I've learned to politely decline beers I've had a thousand times, maybe I have impolitely declined before and was that guy, but if you drink everything you will be DLD famous for the wrong reasons.

Also, Group A, 5 years in a row!

I have seen some post on BA and other social media about wanting to buy tickets. Seems pretty minimal though. Not like I have seen with some other events...
