KBS is an annual release but the volume has grown significantly with the new Founders barrel aged location. At this point, Founders makes a metric shit ton of it. Like hundreds of thousands of bottles.

Most of the Heinens got multiple cases last year. Some sat on them, some put them all out. It’s up to the store if they want to save some for events like Cleveland Beer Week or Black Friday.

Umm, moving stuff from low demand to higher demand areas is the definition of distribution. Founders doesn’t “move” beer. Founders sells beer to a distributor in OH - in this case Premium - they sell to the stores. Three tier distribution system at work. It does seem like Premium sat on some KBS last year and made a few drops. But beer isn’t moved from one store to another normally. Stores that sell more get more. They may also get a second or third drop.

@jampics2, thank you for that effective tutorial. I'm not young but am still a n00b when it comes to the details of how some things work.

Glad I skipped out while I was up there. I was considering going over there, but skipped out.

I think it's really good for 5.5%. Ended up picking up a sixer of it yesterday. Not hazy as it says, but I don't mind if the flavor is there. I think it's a great session!

I thought it was good as well. Dank nose with a citrus finish. For Jackie O's it was definitely hazy compared to their other IPAs. Just doesn't include the trub that some other breweries do, which is completely fine by me.

Welcome to the Flats. As much good as the City has done for reviving downtown, they seem dead set on running every business there into the ground by making it completely unappealing for anyone to go down there. Public parking desperately needs addressed, and every business charging 25%+ what you'd expect for food and beer due to what I assume is super high operating costs.

I personally loved it as well. It was also nice to see a brewery call a beer hazy and not have it look like total sludge. To me, this (Who Cooks For You?) is what a "hazy" beer looks like.

Sounds like they've made a huge amount of progress in the last few weeks. I think they'll almost certainly be able to fire up the brew house this month - everything is wired and plumbed. Pretty amazing to see it all coming together!!

I think he meant they plan to start brewing there, not open to the public.

Yep. And keep in mind many of the first “batches” are just for calibration. Actually, the literal first brews are normally just water to test pumps, temps and plumbing.

So long way to go but goal is in sight. Def NOT going to open this month but would not be surprised if the first real batch of beer is in the tanks in the next 6-8 weeks or so.

Don’t know if it’s me or what, but I picked up two bottles of KBS at Royal Park yesterday and didn’t like it at all. Middle of the road, at best. They also had a ton of Sunday Morning Stout if anybody is looking.

I had a bottle last night and it was very bitter and coffee forward. But I had it on draft the other day it had a little more chocolate to it. The bottle was not good at all.

Crazy, I thought it was really great. Coffee was very pronounced. Maybe more so than I can ever remember it. I love coffee, so maybe that’s why. Also thought it was very creamy this year. Crazy how’s subjective beer can be.

I always preferred Sunday Morning Stout. I can't remember how many side by sides I've done just to remind myself, because I can never get over how long SMS sits on grocery store shelves. Still plenty available in the Akron area.

I love coffee too, but I just got cheap booze, a little coffee, and bitter. It was thin, also.

Saucy's "Love You, Bye" is like Ohio's Julius... Better than the NE IPA's I've had by Masthead. Just finished the can I bought.

Orange creamsicle note, nailed it. Fantastic aroma and flavor. Mouthfeel spot on. If you blindfolded me, I'd say it was Treehouse instantly. Need to get more cans pronto!
