    (old) News:

"You guys like cans. A lot.

...we're pumped to announce we're changing the packaging format for all of our hop forward beers (and recently extended to some other styles too) from 750ml / 25.4oz bottles into 16oz cans!

Batch sizes and case counts will go up as we get our legs under us.

Cans will be available at both breweries, but please note we won't be able to split the cases evenly on the same day as packaging for logistical reasons (so fewer cases available in Boston vs Canton on day of packaging). Thanks on behalf of the whole trillium team for your support to help us achieve this incredible milestone."

First two can releases in June (end of the month) were Congress Street and Melcher Street. Cans come in four packs but you can buy individual cans, if you like. Yes, the date is on the bottom.

    Trillium Can Spreadsheet:

@jimmyfausto created this awesome spreadsheet. In his own words:

I've been maintaining a spreadsheet for all Trillium can release information, including sell out times, hours/days available, and other notes. I know availability is a frequent topic here, especially for travelers and newbies, so I've made the google doc viewable by the below link. (Let me know if people have trouble accessing it)

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mmBOt3Bia-mo5gef5A7nENRkFSBx7NCVaSXbH9RYJ78/edit?usp=sharing

All sell out information is from Trillium's social media, unless noted. There have been rare occasions where they didn't post sell out times for a few beers, in which case I guessed the hours.

    New Hours at Canton:

"OUR NEW HOURS RESOLUTION It's a new year! Time for a Team Trillium resolution: make Canton more awesome. We've always felt like party poopers shouting "last call" every Friday night, so starting tomorrow (1/6) Canton will now be open until 10PM on Fridays & Saturdays! And EVERY Sunday from 12PM-5PM! Cheers to more beer, more food trucks, and more fun in 2017."

Please note that LAST CALL is 30 minutes before closing! This applies to Canton site only.

Reminder: Fort Point site does NOT offer any on premises drinking.

Trillium Garden: (CLOSED FOR THE SEASON AND WAITING FOR INFO WHEN IT WILL RE-OPEN IN 2018)

Atlantic Ave & High St, Boston, MA 02110

This beer garden is operated by Trillium on the Greenway. Serving beer by Trillium & wines by Westport Rivers Winery!

Draft pours only. The Fort Point location is a short walk nearby for growler fills and bottle sales.

    Hours:

    Wed – Fri 4pm– 10pm
    Sat – Sun 11am – 1opm

    Please Note:

    Last pour
    - 9:30pm
    Last admission - 9:15pm

WHEN WILL YOU CLOSE DOWN FOR THE SEASON?

    (ALREADY CLOSED FOR THE SEASON)

The exact date of closing is to be decided (contingent on weather), but we're hoping to stay open through September at least. Stay tuned to our social media, we’ll post closing updates there.

I have to say that opening the patio outside was fantastic. And while it was a tiny bit crowded it really helped thin out the crowds overall on the entire premise. I liked the set up of high tops and bench seating. The community aspect of it is fun and it's nice to chat with other folks. If you're an introvert it may not be the scene for you. But you can still find your bit of space if needed. The inside, outside of the long line was very open. So in the summer those who like heat can kick it in the sun and those who want AC have the other option.

What Canton will never be is a place to go down and expect it to be quiet and you can just chat with the brewers or owners on a Saturday afternoon and discuss beer. It's just not that. People come with their dogs, People come with kids(including myself with my daughter occasionally) and just hang around with friends who do the same. So yes, it can feel a bit crowded. But everyone deserves a chance to get out of the house and do something of their choice. I'd rather stand next to 6 drunk people than the one person who complains about kids being there though. 99% of those people would never say that in person anyways. 100% of us who bring them do not care that it bothers you and feel bad you are such a negative person.

I guess my point is my observations for anyone wanting to check out Canton in the nicer weather is the patio was cool and certainly added a fun aspect to it as well as spread things out. The longest I waited in line for a beer was 9 minutes. Yes, obviously the TreeHouse outdoor area is a bit nicer and spread. But that's because they reside in the woods. Trillium is in a highly populated area with high prices so take what you can get and the convenience of the location  It was also really nice to see J&E outside with their kids enjoying a beer and saying hello to people.

I was considering going down today after work to get cans of the new Perm IPA and a bottle or two of the black raspberry. The problem is that they keep releasing wild bottles and it's tough to drink them in a reasonable amount of time/store them.

I'm hoping it's not a vinegar bomb, but we'll see.

Tried it today at the brewery. It’s amazing, very vinous. Not sweet at all.

So you're cool with your kid being around a group of drunk people? Is that the right environment for little kids? You're still butthurt on the kid thing and need to get over it. Other people have different opinion as to kids and dogs at breweries and they are not 'negative people'. I would never take my kids to a brewery but maybe that's just me. I was at Hill Farmstead on Friday and a women had her baby lying on a community table which I found to be very strange.

The vibe at Trillium on weekends is obnoxious and the above are the very reasons I stay clear. The crowds, dogs and wait for pours is not something I'm interested in.

Ok fine, I'll be the guinea pig. Picked up some Perm 31 earlier. Here we go:

Right off the rip theres a ton of pineapple on the nose, pours super hazy gold with a decent head that hangs on even after a few sips. Heavy fruit on the first sip, low bitterness, and on the end you get that same zesty bite that Covered in puppies/Pow Pow has. All in all I think its great and I wish I picked some more up.

Looks like the Pink Boot beer is growler fills only according to the website. I wonder why they didn't put it in cans. I guess I'll just pick up a couple of 32 oz growlers...

Most likely brewed on the small batch system and they wanted it to last in the taproom for a while.

Trillium added Big Sprang today. Fort Point has twenty different beers available today between cans, bottles, growler fills! And a great variety of styles too. Guess I need to take a walk at lunch.

Also will add I picked up some Perm 31 earlier this week. Head retention is noticeably different than many of their IPAs/DIPAs, where the head usually dissipates pretty quickly. Some of the trademark Trillium flavor on it for me, but I'm not sure I could pick it out as a Trillium beer if tasting it blind.

Enjoyed it a lot, may grab another four-pack today. Would echo @killamonjaro -- "loads of pineapple" was my Untappd description for it.

Yea that's what I'm assuming, but it would've been nice to have 2 4-pack limits and have the rest be for draft pours at Canton.

Reminds me much more of a HF or TH IPA with very soft bitterness compared to Trills usual Columbus hop bite, the latter of which I prefer.

Cracked open a 32 oz growler of Women at Work with a couple of coworkers. The peppercorn definitely comes through a bit and complements the typical Trillium IPA mouthfeel well. Other than that, it has a lot of pineapple and is definitely on the darker side of Trillium IPAs. I wouldn't mind having this become a yearly IWD release.
