    Good day BAs! It's raining here in NW PA so it feels like summer - cold and wet. Bad news for this year's rice crop. Good news, however, for today's New Breakfast Beer:



    A very good take on an English Barley Wine, cheap at twice the price.

    None of your pictures are showing for me; not sure if it's a setting on my end, as this has been going on for days. Dave, your pictures haven't been showing for me the entire time, although I can see them on Untappd.

    "Stone Beer" that's brewed on hot stones, which gives it a kind of interesting mineral note.

    Hope you're okay with what I was drinking yesterday. I don't have a smart phone, so I have to be back at the hotel to share. Day #3 of our Florida visit took us to Tampa. For lunch, a plate of mutant onion rings & a Coppertail Free Dive IPA, at the Irish 31 Pub. Then to the historic Ybor City district, where we visited several cigar shops and enjoyed Reef Monkey at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company. Finally, we made it to Cigar City Brewing, where I tried the "White Oak" variety of their famous Jai Alai IPA, and also a pale ale w/ Grungeist hops.
    More adventures today !

    Having a Kentucky style breakfast. We're having an April "snowstorm". Inexplicably, work is closed without there being any school closings, and it looks like there is only a quarter inch of snow/ice on the roads. Supposed to get more snow and wind, nothing yet, but I'll take it! Have to go out later for a car repair, and maybe Chinese buffet. And a new beer somewhere.

    This is my first 2018 KBS, after the past few months of trying to drink down a case of 2017 KBS - only half done. This one has decent coffee, slight chocolate, and moderate barrel flavors. Quite similar to fresh 2017 KBS. The latest 2017's I drank had muted coffee and chocolate, and while you'd expect that to accentuate the barrel, it hasn't.

    Looks like a lot of folks cracking 2018 KBS this morning, and there is already a Snörkel sighting! That's my usual glass when I don't have a brand/beer matching one.

    How are you liking this? Is it just a rebranding of the traditional Stone IRS or is a new recipe? Which do you prefer?

    IMO, that is the best non barrel-aged beer that FB makes...the coffee and vanilla are dialed in really nicely. I just wish it was available more often and in a 12oz, 4-Pack format

    I think it the least adjuncty sweet of the FB beers higher rated, most of which are BA, and quite tasty! I’m a fan of Morning Wood which I scored higher than CBS - Cheers!

    Possibly. If it's imgur with an account, it's possible they've shifted to account-only access for even photo viewing; that happened with another site not that long ago (Photobucket, perhaps, or maybe Google?).
