I will be making sandwiches, and i’m Just going to put them at the bottom of my backpack.

If they are discovered underneath beer, frozen water bottles, a sweatshirt, and glassware, I’m fine with throwing out the $6 worth of food.

I think I bought one tap last year. I tried to buy food but got distracted. So easy to not spend much.

Damn! $6 ‘wich? Are you using caviar instead of mustard?

Last year, we stayed in Lansing, and our Lyft was $11.63 getting to the brewery, but $61.77 going back to the hotel due to surge pricing. We're going to try a cab on the return trip this year.

None of us can tell the difference between the 10,000 neckbeards anyway.

None of the hotels are letting you book for single night stays, and they all jacked the price up $150 more per night than last year. We've stayed a single night for numerous years and they're acting like this is a promotion with the brewery, lmfao.

How is forcing you to stay two nights when you only want one, and paying almost double, a "promotion?" How can they do this? And who do I hunt down?

Based on security from all of the past DLD fests I have no doubt in my mind that people will easily be able to sneak in multiple sandwiches and sandwich bags of snacks (chips, pretzels, peanuts etc). Also, the 72oz rule is a joke. Almost positive that is just a statement for legality/insurance purposes. Not worried about getting this stuff into the fest.

I have this same exact feeling. All they will do is quickly flashlight your pack to make sure you don't have a weapon, then wave you through. Nobody is going to be counting ounces.

What towns/cities are you looking at? I live 15 minutes from FFF, and honestly I would say go further East into Indiana than into IL or immediately next to Munster. Comfort Inn in Schererville is like 129 a night, about a 10 minute drive, appears to have vacancies based on my search. Two nights at La Quinta in Merrillville (which has lots of other options) would be $168 (25 minute drive). It doesn't seem like the hotels a bit further east are price gouging -> https://bit.ly/2IrcziA

Yeah fuck Munster and Hammond, guess they don't want our business anymore. Not like we trashed the place. Slept the night and left quietly.

    Schererville it is!

Don't get me wrong, I love Corpse, but I'm still holding out for At the Gates.

The Hampton in Hammond let me book one room for one night, $150. I don’t think that’s bad at all

I think that was the only one that was "truly" booked solid. I'm sure rooms will open up as they always do, I'm not sure how early I've made reservations in the past, but at least last year I waited until a week or two before DLD and that's where I ended up staying.

The last two years I stayed at the Hampton in Munster, this year it was booked within minutes of the date being announced (at least it seemed that way) so I booked the next one I could find. A little bit further, but I’m not too concerned.

I've yet to stay in Munster...regular old cab rides are too entertaining, especially on DLD. Was so messed up on my first DLD I (over)paid the cabbie on my ride back with a bottle. Guess that meter doesn't always mean much lol

I’ve got 1 night booked at the Spring Hill next to the brewery. Will be cancelling it within the next 2 weeks. $350 is really steep.

I looked at that one first, I was excited for the proximity, until I saw the price.

Has anyone heard about the in person tickets they've done the past few years a couple weeks prior to DLD??
