Hey Atlanta! I'm visiting family, got a hotel in Buckhead and only Uber to get me here and there. What's the best nearby bottle shop?

Also, for funzies: what's the best supermarket beer you'd tell your sister to pick up for you?

Cold one, greens on Buford highway or tower on piedmont for shop. At a grocery store Monday night Han brolo or slap fight are good. Creature comforts tropicalia if it’s there.

For supermarkets, the Buckhead Whole Foods (or any Whole Foods) is a good standby. The "Disco Kroger" in Buckhead has a surprisingly solid offering as well; growlers and some sometimes hard-to-find 6 packers/bombers. Actually bought Hopslam there last year.

Going to be travelling to Atlanta for Work in late June - are there any nice spots in the downtown/Georgia Tech area (most above seem to be in Decatur/outside)? Would prefer to travel by foot if possible...

EDIT: I see Torched Hop is in a decent location. Anything else worth visiting?

Also, I see the Hop City store near Georgia Tech, anything else around with a decent selection of take aways?

By foot is going to be tough, but there are a lot of places within a quick uber ride. For bottle shops, Greens on Ponce has a good selection, but if you’re going to hit Hop City already you’ll be well covered. Wrecking bar and the Porter are quick 15 minute rides from downtown, as is Orpheus

Thanks, I thought that might be the case. Will give those a go

What about some acceptable lunch food places (nice beer definitely a bonus) in the area of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta? Will be at the hotel for a conference, so can't stroll too far unfortunately.

Downtown is a wasteland of chains, conferences, and the occasional parade. Max Lagers is maybe your only option

Damn, I was afraid of that after looking at google maps. Maybe I'll have to actually pay attention at the conference during the day and travel a bit in the evenings then. Thanks for the opinions

Max Lager's is a really good option in Downtown. medals at GABF for American Wild Ales the last 2 years.

Will definitely give Max Lager's a shot then. Will head to Little Five Points at some stage, have to see how long lunch break I can justify.

    Cheers!
Ps. If anyone is interested in an IP downtown trade (June 22-24, posting early I know, but just thought I'd get it out there while I have some time), I posted in the IP South-Atlantic forum. Would prefer to trade with someone who is helpful, hence this comment here.
