We're way more than a couple weeks away from this year's DLD. What @Foxman27 said.

 

Cash only, last year was Saturday April 29 at 8:00, sold out mid-day. 2 ticket limit. Just set some notifications on your phone. They'll post on Facebook or Twitter or both. I missed online tickets in 2016 and didn't check my phone before work. Walked to work, saw they were available, borrowed a co-worker's car when I didn't have students, and boom. #teacheroftheyear

 

The story would have been a lot cooler if you had borrowed a student’s car.

 

I don’t the Hampton Inn down the road from the brewery is forcing a 2 night minimum. They did jack up the rates. Fortunately, I have plenty of Hilton Honors points to offset that.

 

Especially since I teach middle school...hahah.

 

Think they sold out in person already before they planned to release. Another FFF debacle- the password was "Hi, can I buy DLD tickets?"

 

I'd rather see at the gates take that spot. Well known fact that Anthrax stops in when they're coming through Chicago, FFF should attempt to get them one of these years.

 

If At the Gates plays DLD I would be so happy.


I can see it being Exodus though since The Toxic Maltz was a thing last year. Doesn’t matter if Gary’s in your with Slayer or not.

 

I would love to see Scum of the Earth play DLD. They are basically White Zombie without Rob Zombie. White Zombie is touring, so very low odds.

 

I thought about Exodus as well, but Slayer w/Gary is playing on the 19th already up in Canada.

Anthrax would also be amazing!!!

Exodus has played plenty of shows without Gary at this point so I don’t see that preventing it.

 

My guess is there would be a lot of governmental scrutiny on DLD if FFF is found trying to acquire Anthrax.....

 

Seeing as how we'll never get a ska band at DLD I'd love to see some kind of joke-metal band. Tell me you wouldn't enjoy this.

 

To this day my favorite DLD memory is the end of the fest 2016 when the DJ in the big tent started playing 90's pop music and ended with George Michael's Freedom.

 

Macabre for sure.

 

Big Freeda played, so they’re open to things besides metal - and she puts on a great show.

I just wish they would have some bands that were closer to Megadeath or Metallica on the metal scale - great guitar work with vocals that don’t hurt my throat just listening it - i can deal with that and at least appreciate it. I was all into Amon Armoth on Spotify until the vocals kicked it.

But alas, we get screamo death metal, which means I just stay far away.

 

I'm with you....some will say tho that they are not metal lol

 

Big Freeda!! I forgot about that. Already a unique act, made that much more unique at Dark lord day

 

I liked the beer they made for her even more. My inebriation at the time might have played into that, but I remember distinct fresh wild strawberry jam flavors.

 

I'm all in for a repeat of this
