Don’t get all jealous now but....

have to visit some out-laws in Pickerington, Ohio. Could y’all recommend any good family friendly restaurants with some of the finest local brews on tap? And good food to boot? TIA!

I'd go to BrewDog USA in Canal Winchester just to the south of Pickerington. It's about 2 miles south off the US-33 exit. Good food and their own beers as well as some guest taps.

I really recommend Combustion Brewing in Pickerington.

Very good beer, they serve food in-house, usually have a food truck, and then you can also order pizza from the Romeo’s next door.

Brewdog is fine as well—found their house beers to be a little expensive though and I think Combustion’s beer is better.

Matt the Miller's Tavern has a few locations in the greater Columbus area. Good food with a kid-friendly menu. The Sunday bruch buffet is nice if that is an option for ya: https://mtmtavern.com/Portals/0/pdf/MTM_MENU1217.pdf

And we've found 101 Beer Kitchen to be surprisingly family-friendly with a good kid's menu as well: http://www.101beerkitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Kids-Menu_FA17.pdf

The food for me at the new Winking Lizard is a bit hit-or-miss but the new Lizardville location in Westerville would probably give you the most bang for the buck, especially if you want bottles-to-go as well: http://www.winkinglizard.com/locations/westerville

Compiling a list and map. Huge thanks.

When visiting in-laws, such threads are paramount.

In fact, beeradvocate could start a new list of “places to drink/buy brew when near in-laws”.

    Cheers!

Having put pen to paper, we’ve got 101 Beer kitchen and Combustion on the map so far.

What are some of the best beers to have that are local to the area? Bodhi is the one I hear about. Any others? May want to buy bottles/cans to fly home...

If you haven't had Fat Head's Head Hunter, you need to look for it. If you find Bodhi you'll probably also find Columbus Brewing's IPA. It's pretty good in its own right.

Fathead can be found at just about anyplace that sells beer, but the few times I've been in the Pickerington area, I have not been able to find Bodhi. I'll have to defer to a local for any advice on finding it.

Bodhi is possible to find in the area, it just takes a little looking around.

The KwikPak Carryout on Milnor and Refugee usually has it if there's a fresh batch around. Giant Eagle in Pickerington is hit and miss for it. There's also a Shell Station on 256 which surprisingly has a good craft selection and I've grabbed it there multiple times.

As Mothergoose said above, Head Hunter is pretty easy to find at any grocery store in the area.

Cruising around OSU, found grain and grape on Main. st.

Lucky to have gotten Bodhi, Head Hunter and 2 bottles of Zombie Dust ( wasn’t even on my radar, so bonus!)
