Corridor Brewery & Provisions

Have never had a Corridor stout to begin with. Anyone have one before and can weigh in if they're any good?

 

Had the Starfish & Coffee; it was good but not one I'd go for again. I rated it a 3.75 on here.

Big Slice was a tasty take on a pastry stout. Chocolate hid the 11% a little too well.

 

Agreed. Really enjoyed Big Slice and thought it was well done. Unfortunately only had 1 pour of it before it kicked so I’m really looking forward to their next stout.

 

Juice Beyond still rolling?

I'd venture again and say there are a lot better in Chicago. I've said it before. This thread is just a big Corridor circle-jerk. Their stuff is good. It's not gonna change the world.

 

All the individual brewery threads are like that, have you seen the Forbidden Root thread?

 

But I think we get that you like other places more and that everyone has their own opinions. Is any beer going to change the world?

 

I had a Chimay Grande Reserve when I was 19 and in Belgium. That changed my world. I guess not necessarily "the" world though.

 

Was in around lunch. JB is fantastic.

 

100% agreed. My world and the world are different.

Anyway, Corridor has really impressed me lately, Juice Beyond was very tasty. Stands up well alongside the Aslin, Veil, Dancing Gnome, Brew Gentlemen beers I've had lately. At this point, picking best or better feels trivial and will clearly depend on the drinker.

 

How could it not? Liquid gold this plentiful is going to shake up the markets.

 

Came here to say this. The Half Acre thread is filled with people being blown away by HA releases, FR thread is filled with "this is the best FR beer yet!" every release, etc.

To be clear, I love both those breweries and like to see them getting praise. But these solo threads are literally tailor-made for that sort of fanboyism; it's not surprising that so many people in THIS thread like Corridor.

 

You hit the nail on the head. Throw in that brewery employees often interact on these brewery specific threads and it’s not a surprise that they are mostly praise. That said, if you don’t like something I think it’s important to politely say so especially if you can explain why. It makes the praise more special! On the other hand, I see people describing above average beers as “trash” in some threads...

 

Corridor might not be changing the world, but they are definitely changing the amount I spend on other local breweries...them and TG....
