This is a very solid beer. I'm excited to get a couple six packs when it hits Indy.

Loving this beer for 2nd year in a row. How is Hopslam on top 250 and this isn't? I'm a west coast IPA fan and have to say no IPA is better than this. It's bitter and hoppy just the way I like it. Wish Lagunitas made all beers to excel as they do with this.

Couple dozen Sixers just sitting on the floor at Safeway (@$12 per). A week old. Smells like gummy bears and tastes like a Hop God's tribute to man. Can only muscle one down in a sitting though

    The Heineken Hype is real.

Also, it sucks that people have to count, in a rational numerical order, to figure out when the beer they're just gonna slam while hittin' the bong was brewed.

some strong shit this year but definitely a lot better to my palate...much less syrupy, drier, hoppier. kinda harsh at the moment but hoping it'll mellow a bit and further improve...will be picking up more than last year for sure

I think I like this Years better , less sweet I think . Just saw someone on untapped write that insiders secret is that this Years is really close to 13%. Wonder how that is. It's is quite boozy but i liked my bottle tonight.

Definitely a good beer, will probably pick up a 6, but I will still go with hopslam as a better bigIPA yearly. Also I prefer the born yesterday from lagunitas. Tried it on draft today after a long day of painting and yard work and I was really underwhelmed.

We're SO spoiled when we get to come online and talk about/ complain about a beer of this magnitude and it's availability. Same goes for Willetized, and what Firestone is doing with their barrel aged series.

Last year's was too syrupy...this year's is surprisingly bitter on the finish. Not loving it, but maybe a little time will round it out, as beermeplz said. With its high ABV, this beer should come in those stubby 7 oz. bottles. Lagunitas brought back the 32 oz. bottle, so why not?

It is insane how spoiled we are. My whole drinking life I have had access to amazing beer. When I drink fridge beers with my older relatives (usually, although less now than ever, some lager like labatt or miller) I just marvel at their fortitude, powering through decades of fizzy yellow all so I could wallow in barrel aged, dry hopped, mixed-fermented glory. Damn it feels good to be spoiled.

Have you aged this previously? If so, when do you feel it is best?
