Landshark, to me, is easily the worst of the "Mexican style" lagers. I'll take any of these over a Landshark any day

    • Tecate
    • Carta Blanca
    • Pacifico
    • Modelo Especial
    • Mexicali
But hey, if you like it then all the power to you

I drink it occasionally. Throw a lime in it and it's a very fine summer beer. Easy crowd pleaser too, can't go wrong with it at a BBQ.

Thanks for explaining julian dating. I've heard of it but never saw an example of how it works. Usually if I see a non dark beer and it's not clearly dated (or a recent release) I pass it up.

What's the expiration date code for "as soon as sunlight hits this clear bottle and skunks the contents to hell and gone"?

Oskar Blues makes a Mexicican style lager, too.

I have seen the Landshark, but never tried it. I assumed it was some sort of tie-in with the old Saturday Night Live sketches, but couldn't figure out why anyone would want to tie-in a beer with 40 year old TV sketches and not something more recent. ???

It is a joint venture between Anheuser-Busch and the singer Jimmy Buffet, the name loosely taken from his song "Fins" (with some obviously SNL influence, as well).

Buffet, of course, also owns the "Margaritaville" (the 'dba' brewery name on the AB beer) and "LandShark Bar & Grill" restaurant chains. Apparently, Corona was previously "his beer" and sponsored his concerts, thus LandShark's clear bottle and "beach beer" image.
