I'm not a new brewer but I don't have a lot of beers under my belt. I've only been able to brew a couple over the last two years, all grain BIAB. To help force me into brewing more, and more often, I bought Yakima's Hop Box. Now, I have a lot of hops and wouldn't mind some help in creating a recipe with them. The hops I have are listed blow. The first eight are the oldest and I would like to use those first. Though they are all sealed and in the freezer so should be good. I also have 4oz of 007 Hop Hash. I would like to brew an IPA with this first brew and use the hop hash but I'm not sure of how it's best used. Is 4oz too much for dry hopping in a keg, and could I leave it in the keg until it kicks like I do with other hops, in a hop bag? I have 2oz of all of these. With that lineup, you can brew most any style. If you want to use them quickly, then brew up a series of IPAs. It might be interesting to brew a series with the same malt bill and yeast, but with different combos of hops. Cheers!
First off, I've never used lupulin powder, but in reading Scott Janish's blog, it seems like it is best used on the cold side. Here's my $0.02. If you're making a DIPA, I'd use the Idaho 7 (hop hash) in your keg and use all 16 oz. of the above hops in your whirlpool. For a standard IPA, I'd halve the whirlpool addition to 1 oz. of each of the above or just 2 oz. of 4 of the above. What's your grainbill look like, btw?
