Didn't they solve the problem with the line to get in last year? I thought all went smoothly on that front for the most part. I know it did for me, but I don't recall if there were big issues last year with others.

I don't think there were issues. I showed up right around 6:30A.M. and went right to the gate which gave you access into the holding pen. There was no opportunity to share outside the holding pen by the time I showed up. That took all of 5 mins to enter holding pen. Then once inside, people just drank/shared in that area until about 8:30A.M. at which point Group A entered the cattle line. Once 9A.M. hit, Group A was funneled into the bottle pick up line while rest of festival goers roamed around until their pick up time. Our group A waited about 45 mins until we snaked our way in to pick up the bottles and leave.

Granted, the last 3 years I’ve had group A, so showing up early was necessary, but I like the early morning shares. I also really like having a picnic table.

Plus with them lowering the limit this year, I bet you’ll be seeing fewer crazy bottles popped later on the day.

Chemtrail Mix kicked two people ahead of me. Insert sad face here.
Last year was the first year for the giant corral and there were ample port-o-potties there.
If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.

forgot about the corral, probably because we go there late enough and sort of walked right in.

I'm group B but have to arrive later as my daughter had to go and graduate that day.

The last few years I was there from 6am til close, so pace, food, water are huge. For me, super early and super late are the most memorable parts. Early is fun, b/c that's when I partake the most in bottle shares, later on because the crowd thins out a bit and the bands. I typically go a few hours without any beer mid day just to stay comfortable. Last year I saw more sick and incoherent than any other year.

A friend saw a guy stealing bottles from a passed out dude on the lawn near the stage and chased him down. While I think such behavior is a very small percent of the crowd, it's good to find a buddy if you are flying solo.

I did this last year and it was clutch. I got pretty drunk early in the day (tons of sharing in the holding pen and then in the tent), then me and my buddy walked to the hotel, had some food, and took an hour nap. Ubered back to the fest and was good to go - drank a bunch more and enjoyed the hell out of High on Fire and Amon Amarth. One more walk back to the hotel, shared a few bottles in the hotel lobby, and literally was not even hungover the next morning. Couldn't have been a better day for me.

I got De Muete and I wanna say it was like around 2 PM when it went on tap. BA Vanilla Moloko kicked like 2 people in front of me. They replaced it with De Muerte.

I understand not announcing variants until the last minute, but damnit- announce some bands already.

Rook here. I asked the Dark Lord to come to me in a dream (you sick bastards don’t go there) to let me bestow upon you the variants for this year. Will post when he arrives.

Also. Since I am a Rook and riding solo I decided to take a shuttle to DLD. And since I’m in group e I planned for a later one. Leaves at 10am so hoping to arrive at 11? Besides merch being sold out and wicked bottle shares what else should I expect arriving so late?

Any idea how much of a stickler they're gonna be on the backpack size? My Polar Bear is a bit larger than their stated 10x10x16

In the past they were primarily just looking for you not to bring a cooler or a full sized hiking backpack. They didn't care about regular back-packs.
