a friend of mine has brought the polar bear backpack the last three years with no issues.

dudes crapping their pants after they drop bottles and the bottles smash on the ground. Knife fights. miscreants trying to steal bottles. death metal, lots of death metal with a mosh pit, bring shoulder pads.

there will still be people sharing. i'd imagine the bus ride down is probably a big share but i've never done one.

Bonus point to FFF if the wristbands are leather and metal....

Double bonus if they are rainbow patterned with a glitter covered shiny coating.

They spend MAYBE 30 seconds looking at your stuff, and I didn't see any rulers. As long as it isn't grossly over the limits, he should be fine. For added reference, my backpack I used the last 2 years is a little longer than the limit and I had no issues.

Only once in line before entry did someone ever comment on my bag being too big, my guess is because I had a rain cape over it. Never been a problem when it was checked by security.

Also, and sorry if this was mentioned already, but I just noticed this in the FAQ - "but you cannot re-enter with beer."

I know you cannot reenter with open containers, but does this mean you can only bring in beer once? Are they trying to get people to drink less / get draft beer, or am I reading too much?

I was wondering the exact same thing @OccamsPhaser & almost posted this exact same question yesterday. the way I am reading it is that you can leave the fest and come back, but when you come back you can't bring beer with you. kind of makes sense if you think about the 72oz limit.

I think this has been covered previously, but this would make sense if they 1) didn't allow re-entry through the original first-entry gate 2) had a (shorter) line for re-entry guests only that didn't do the full search that would be needed if they let you bring beer back in, etc.

I’m kind of surprised that Miskatonic and 350 brewing aren’t pouring at DLD, they match up pretty well with the event and 3 Floyd’s in general...

I wonder how they acquire beer. Do they buy this stuff or is it a we'll give you a couple kegs for your fest and you'll give us a few for ours? It's odd that Windmill brewing who makes distinct NEIPAs down the road isn't on the list, Forbidden Root who did a collab with them last year that was one of the hits of the fest, Mikerphone/More/Corridor/Hop Butcher, etc, but if it is based off donating kegs I could see why some smaller places might choose not to participate.

I thought of Windmill, but then I just figured why send a keg, when they'd rather someone just stop in and buy/drink more at their own place since it's so close.

I'm most curious what Side Project will be pouring. Since they primarily do stouts and sours, how much of those beers do they actually keg and how much is strictly in bottles.

they keg all kinds of their beers. and hold back quite a few too. 2 weekends ago at the brewery they tapped a keg of Balaton that was kegged in January 2016. if they bring even their B game they'll be bringing the ruckus.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. I would be quite happy if they brought Balaton. I don't expect Derivation or Tete.

folks last year claiming to have gotten pours of D7....they definitely keg some derivations. had D5 on draft at the anniversary party last year. I think they also had DBD and 4 candles on draft that day as well. anything is possible!

If you are going to 18th Street or doing a bottle share then no....If the alternative is to go to FFF and drink stuff they will flood the beer tents with the next day, then yes.
