Glad to see you landed on your feet, even if it is the lobster shift.

Lol, not much of a choice. I had my job of 18 years swept out from under my feet and was put in another department where I lost my seniority and am doing something I’m a lot less interested in (at a pay cut). Gotta get dat pension doe

@Phreeballing haha, just saw your post, thanks.

Only for this week. I’m doing 8:30-4:30 until at least next month starting tomorrow. It sucks, as we’ve talked about, but it’s becoming “normal” to me so I’m adjusting as I go along.

Yep, most of us have had to "adjust" to a new "normal" at least once or twice.

From untappd check-ins and pictures associated with them, tap room is open again!! Wondering if there are any restrictions on hours and quantity of beer served.

There’s a couple of IG posts showing the taproom open although nothing from the brewery themselves. 2 comments I noticed: one is that someone said the town has implemented an occupancy order and two is that they’ve brewed a 7% smoked porter. That sounds great.

Was there yesterday. Can confirm, yes, they are open...and yes the smoked porter is UNREAL!....and yes there is a max occupancy that is pretty low. I was inside and it was kinda empty but there was a line at the door to get in. And yes...pretzel rods are back as well!!!!

I figured there would be some kind of restrictions, there shouldn’t be, but better than a closed taproom. What % of the place was occupied ? Any restriction on amount of beer any one person could get?

And leave it to the aholes running zoning board, I am sure there are no other breweries in the state operating under ludicrous restrictions.

So, despite this apparent good news, does anyone think Sand City will eventually leave Northport anyway? Or open a second, more brewery-friendly location?

    From this article: https://www.hopculture.com/interview-kevin-sihler-sand-city-brewing-taproom-closed/

NK: Can you speak about your expansion plans?

KS: Sure. We’re actively looking for a second location. We want to keep this space operating and functioning as it’s been, but we’re looking for a second place to produce and package, probably with another tasting room.

    NK: In Northport?

KS: We’re open to all options.

Yeah, I read that when it was linked up-thread. But that interview was before the town board meeting and reopening of the tap room, so I was just wondering if a move/expansion would go on the back burner or be dropped. I'd love to see them open a second location somewhere more conveniently reached by...almost everybody.
