    Good afternoo... err, I mean morning, everyone! High time for a new WBAYDN!

    This is your typical resinous citrus/tropical fruit DIPA, but quite well done, actually. Hides its enourmous 9.2% ABV incredibly well, with only very slight notes of booze and bubblegum in the aftertaste. Reminds me of Ninja vs Unicorn a bit.

    Good afternoon from sunny Germany! Figured I would crack something special for no apparent reason. This is a 1986 J.W. Lees Harvest Ale. This is the first time it was bottled. I have had some from the early 2000's, but never one this old. Zero carbonation, but incredible nose full of toffee and dark fruit. Cheers all.

    You are quite welcome! Tell me - How did you like it? It was seemingly hard to come by in many parts of Indiana due to the Harry Potter reference. When I picked that up, I grabbed one for you, one for myself, one for @Vidblain , and another. Initially that extra was going to go to someone else in the BIF, as they indicated that they were looking for it, but then someone else (@JBowenGeorgia I think?) picked it up and sent it to them before I ever could.

    Attractive orange gold color with white cap and good lacing.

    Aroma of rich caramel malt and something like almond flowers.

    Flavor is definitely sweet malt supported by enough hop bite to keep things in perspective. Sweet yet dry, bready, biscuity yet fuller bodied bordering on voluptuous. Complex without being busy, I'm not hearing an angel chorus sing but this flavor combination is something to think about even if I'm not in an analytical mood. Finish is clean with an aftertaste that's slightly nutty and refreshingly bitter.

    Medium-full texture with balancing carbonation.

    A remarkable beer suited to a wide range of uses.
