Breaker Brewing's Olde King Coal Holy Molé Stout. Aged it for 3 months to see if the spiciness would fade and it did. Really enjoying this right now.

Delicious English brown ale! Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Flavors of big caramel, milk chocolate, cocoa, toffee, brown sugar, toasted oats, nuttiness, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coffee, smoke, dark fruit, and herbal/grassy hops. Similar/muted aromas. Very mild herbal/grassy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready malt/oat mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight sticky hops, chalky roast, and increasing dryness. Extremely smooth/drinkable. Very rich and complex for the 5.5%, with a nice sized body. Very well rounded brown ale malt complexity; with restrained fruity yeast and mild earthy hop balance. Glad I got a 6 pack. Will definitely get again pretty often now.


Fantastic NEIPA! Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely drinkable, never overly bitter/drying. The combination of the tangerine with Citra/Galaxy hops is perfect. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank hop/fruit complexity; nice sized bready malt backbone, never too sweet/heavy. They absolutely nailed this one for the style. Glad it is year round.

This is the regular cream ale and I love it too

 

I have not followed the posts but Ardent is a damn good brewery. I know I am from from Richmond so I am biased. But to be honest, I am not enormed with some of their brews.

 

Glad you enjoyed it. There have been some great beers flying around these last few weeks.

Enjoying this can of Carton SS Yirgacheffe, a coffee IPA with lemon drop and sorachi ace.

I really enjoy a well made coffee IPA. Stone Mocha IPA was a delightful beer. This is equally enjoyable and certainly has lemon and lemon rind bitterness to it.
