    Interesting about alpha king.

Also good to see I’m not the only one that still enjoys a kick ass old school IPA (though I do think it’s better on draft.).

I wonder what percentage gumballhead accounts for. I’d guess it’s high teens/low 20’s.

It’s not like they have all that many packaged offerings. I gotta imagine a large bulk of their packaged sales come from Alpha/Gumball/Yum Yum, which incidentally are the ones that are readily available in grocery stores and super markets, and the only ones you really see on draft at not craft bars.

As long as everyone gets a variant and there is no shot at vintage, honestly I will be happy. Just don’t sell me on a variant and then tell me its vintage bottles.

Muscat is not my favorite news. Even fake news can still be news. But isn’t that why this thread exists.

Fresh or draft Alpha King is fantastic. No shame there

It was a bit disheartening seeing all of them racked up there. My only hope is that, because most of the Muscat and wine barrels were next to two very large sour beer tanks, that those would be used for the sours (pure speculation on my part).

There are three locations you could see where the barrels are racked: one with a bunch of Muscat and wine barrels (next to the two large sour tanks, closest to the brewpub), another location was a bit further off towards the bottling line (space between the old area used for brewing and the new bottling area building. This is where I saw the largest concentration of Willet barrels), and the third area with the least amount of barrels (all which were unlabeled and oldest looking) was in the distillery building area.

Interestingly enough, they weren't waxed yet. My guess is they might be just waiting for all the variants to be ready also and then just wax everything at once. But I would think it would be silver also, like the Behemoth.

I know a lot of people could give a shit but I'm getting ancy about the band's being announced. Doesn't matter if you like the style or not, Amon Amarth is entertaining to anyone that point in the day at least for a few songs. If Cannibal Corpse plays Dark Lord Day everyone needs to dress up as Ace Ventura.

Is their sour area in the same general room as all of their 'clean' production? Or do the have sealed off rooms to minimize contamination?

Same general room as all the 'clean' production. Basically, if you were to enter the brewing area through the garage door by those large external tanks to the right of the brewpub entrance, maybe 50 feet ahead and to the right is where those large sour tanks are and the racked barrels area (with Muscat and wine barrels). I didn't notice and the employee giving the tour didn't mention any sealed off area for any of the their brewing of sours or other beer.

Wow...that's really risky. Jackie O's has a sour room that's closed off, but still connected to the main faciilty, and they've had a few 'clean' beers still get tainted. Can't believe a place that's been around as long as FFF would have a set up like that.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised to see that for sours also. I didn't take pictures this time but I'll see if I can dig some up from the tour that I had last year. The setup was exactly the same then as it was yesterday. I do these tours once a year just to see what (if any changes) have taken place. From last year to this year, I saw no visible difference.
