Time for a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter while watching the Phillies-Pirates game and nibbling on some pieces of a White Stilton Cheese with Mango and Ginger.

Since I have to work tomorrow, Sumpin' Easy for a Friday night

 

Outstanding blonde! Awesome head retention/thick foamy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, lemon, orange, peach, melon, pineapple, citrus peel/rind, mint, pepper, and pine hops; with some cracker, white bread dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins. Moderate increasing bitter/carbonated dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing 4.8%. Never watery. They really nailed this out of the park. Was not expecting so much hop presence, but it's not overdone. Awesomely vibrant and dank citrus/earthy hops; with a solid pale/Munich malt backbone. Will buy again for sure. 2 dollars. Summer beer of the century. 4.18


BBA English barleywine. This was very nice. Minimal head/lacing. Flavors of big raisin, plum, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, and brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, coconut, leather, tobacco, peat smoke, herbal/peppery hops, and yeast earthiness. Similar/muted aromas, increasingly boozy. Mild herbal/peppery hop bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Light carbonation and full bodied; very creamy/silky/slick mouthfeel; light sticky hops and bourbon/oak tannins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannin dryness. Very smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 13.5%, touch of booze. Very rich and complex. Very well balanced between fruity yeast and dark/bready malts; awesome barrel integration, but just a touch too boozy. Aged for over a year in the barrels. Was hoping to be more impressed, but really well made, spot on style example all around. 3.88

Felt like work was never gonna end today, ended up working double the amount of hours I had planned to work...so time for a beer or three. This is absolutely fantastic, but the moment I heard this beer was happening I never had any doubt it would be any less than that. Cheers!

 

One of the companies I am always on hold with at work uses this as their hold music, could always be worse...

 

Any chance I wasn’t going to have one of these, answer is a STRONGE NO!
