Pretty sure deviate's TIPA was $20 also. Apparently lasted awhile at that price.

I have been anxiously waiting for Upland's Squeeze and Thank You to come out since I ran out of Juiced in Tims. Arrived today that I could see, and had one tonight. Lower alcohol (which I don't mind), but is more watery, less juicy, less flavorful overall. Same bitter level.

Dissapointed. I have a hard time finding NE IPAs that I really liked due to a bitter sensitivity, and so really enjoyed Juiced in Time. I wanted more from Squeeze. :slight_frown:

I am not able to make it to Death and Tax day this year. If anyone feels like trading one can of one or more of their variants, let me know. Would love the opportunity. One of the few BA stouts my wife really likes, and she loved the variants last year.

Damn, that sucks to hear. My store just got a case in and I was going to buy a 4pk, but now I'm considering not to.

When I had Juiced in time, I kept wanting to take a sip - much like with grape juice - to get that crisp burst of flavor. But with this, it was very one-note. It can still be consumed, but not nearly as enjoyable (to me).

Windmill knocking my socks off today. The double (just sold out) and triple (worth it) are some next-level shit.

I appreciate these comments, but can you try to compare to well known substitutes? I always feel like I know next to nothing when people say "FIRE!" For example. Something comparable gives me a better idea whether I might like it.

Dude it's fire, go buy it now.... just kidding. Had some free time and stopped in for a pour just out of curiosity. I prefer the Double Meme, as it has more balance. The Triple is a little too sweet and the hop presence is a little flabby. Everything in the Triple melds together into an inconsistent tasting profile. The mango and vanilla notes come across a little artificial almost like sno-cone syrup. It is solid, but considering the price point it should be world class- I would not buy a bottle. Just my 2 cents.

But are they carbonated? My cans of lime and blueberry were flat drain pours. I’ve been hesitant to buy anything from them since

I finally got to Bare Hands and had their Spirit Breaker TIPA. It is unbelievable, if you told me I was drinking a 6% IPA I would have believed you. Crazy smooth and tropical with only the slightest hint of burn after the fact.

Also, they finally brewed a Pils! And it is delicious, super drinkable, especially as it warms up now.

If you like shakes, their Red Raspberry tastes just like Barqs Red Cream Soda.

Those three plus the dependable others like Westy and Mail Order Bride make the trip a no-brainer if you want something good and new to try

Have you tried Sam Adams - NE IPA, Sierra Nevada - Hazy Little Thing, Brewdog - Hazy Jane or Lord Hobo - Boom Sauce? These are all regularly available NE IPA that I find are all pretty solid offerings, at lease to my amateur NE IPA taste.

I have tried all but the Lord Hobo.

I thought the SN offering was garbage. Not sure what it was, but it lacked everything I associate with the style.

The Sam Adams offering was not bad, but more bitter and less juicy than I think is associated with the style. (And more bitter than I prefer, given my bitter sensitivity).

I did not like anything about the Brewdog offering. Perhaps it is the type of fruit flavors that are conjured. But, I could not drink it.

I have greatly enjoyed the times I have been able to try M-43 and Boss Tweed.

I do appreciate the suggestions, though.

I'm down in Calumet City for work. Any good beers that I can find just across the border that aren't FFF or 18th Street? Anything hoppy. Thanks!

No sir. That "good" part is going to pretty much limit you to FFF or 18th. Now if you were open to mediocre to shitty you'd be able to find some other stuff from the area (looking at you By Way and Bros.)

I don't believe they're distributing outside of their location yet. But yeah I'm not a big milkshake style IPA guy but everyone seems to love theirs. And they're good dudes.

Go to Torrence Liquors in calumet city. Pretty amazing beer selection there. Otherwise, yeah, stuck with Floyd’s and 18th.

Correct - they aren’t. You’ll have to visit the brewery. Which isn’t much further than FFF from Calumet City.
