Amazing American porter as always. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted dark bread, and light nutty/smokey malts; with some herbal, floral, grassy, piney hops. Moderate pine, roast, char bitterness on the finish. Great creamy, silky, bready malt mouthfeel; some sticky hops and chalky char/roast. Increasing hop/roast bitter dryness, never acrid/astringent. Very rich and complex for the ABV. I slightly prefer the Great Lakes over this rating-wise, but you can't go wrong with either for a classic style representation. I still buy both of them equally as often.

Awesome sour! Aromas and flavors of brightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, papaya, guava, orange zest, and light pepper; light-moderate wheat, cracker malt balance; with moderate hay, straw, grassy, briney/musty funk character. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and yeast/hop spiciness on the finish. Clean/crisp/drying acidic finish, with zero puckering. Light-medium body; with balanced grainy wheat creaminess and lactic acidity in the mouthfeel. Highly drinkable. I really liked that this was not super sour, more of a refreshing level of acidity; with a ton of awesome wild yeast and tropical hop fruity complexity going on. Really loved this one as expected.

And what happens when you spill beer on your Surface Pro keyboard and fry it. Have a new one on order but in the meantime, may as well carry a desk top around. (I hate the on screen keyboards with these tablets ... call me old school. :flushed:)

Fortunately I went to a store the other day that was selling singles of this for $5.99.

I like it, but I'm not going to pay $24.99 for a 4 pack of it. It's not $24.99 good.

IMO go Black Note if it drops this year in November/December.

Best batch yet! Better mouth feel, more coconut and slightly less sweet.

Always amazing. $12 for 6 pack pints is an amazing deal. Flavors of big grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and piney hops; with balancing sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/chocolate malts; some light raisin/fig dark fruits and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery hop bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced bready creaminess and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Increasingly drying, but never astringent on resins. Really awesome balance and complexity. Classic American strong ale, all Chinook hops. I rewrote the review recently, and it's pretty much just as impressive as I remember when I reviewed it nearly 6 years ago. Will be keeping this and Stone IPA around more often, as long as the cans stay consistently fresh. 2 of the best classic American style beers ever IMO.

Awesome NEIPA. Got a pretty fresh pack recently. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, green pepper, and pine hops; moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy wheat creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely easy drinking and not overly aggressive. On the more bitter/drying side of the style, but not overdone. Awesome balanced dank/juicy hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Showcases Ekuanot, Citra, and Amarillo amazingly. A near perfect balance of character. I love Ekuanot, will keep this around as long as I see fresher batches consistently.

The instrumental prog addiction is going to last for a while. I have found so may new bands in the last week. Not sure if I will get the albums just yet, since I have been mostly using Pandora; but I will definitely always remember them now.
