Finally opened a can of Super Cali last night. I thought it was pretty darn good. Small head on a full pour. Other than that > good stuff. Lets see how it holds up in the cans. Would be nice to see Dan K or Raider Bob make its way into the cans. Nice labels too. Nuthing fancy.

Don't sleep on this one all you NE fan boys, winner of the OC Mash-Up and I can taste why. Easily my favorite riip NE to date, fantastic craftsmanship, Citra and Mosaic for miles.

    Cheers,

Some good haze coming out of riip these days. Stir Hazy is on for fills. I thought Hazy Haze was a little more juicier than Stir Hazy. Some new west coast clear IPAs coming soon. Looking forward to the west.

Stopped in late yesterday afternoon to meet a couple friends who haven't had any of riips beers, did both HH and SH, Ian stopped by the table to say hi and told me he's doing a DDH DIPA right now that sounds really good. Guys got mad skills.

I'm bumping this thread up a bit folks. Stopped into Riip this afternoon and had a great visit with Ian, folks if you haven't been in to Riip since Ian has taken over as head brewer you really should, he's brewing some amazing beers. I tried a few new thing's he just finished including a west coast IPA brewed with sourdough bread courtesy of LBBL, it was amazing, it should be on tap tomorrow, huge juicy dank classic west coast greatness. Other beers that stood out were a perfect lower abv pale ale called Foggy Harbor, a soon to be released NE styled DIPA that was pineapple and orange juice driven and this 6.5% IPA called Fog Day Afternoon shown above, it was so good I grabbed a growler to go. On another note the remodel expansion is well underway, it's going to a really cool place to hang out especially during the upcoming summer months with the new roll up doors and patio seating.

    Cheers,

Don't forget to hit up Beachwood Seal Beach. For some proper Beachwood beers down a couple of blocks from RiiP is Beachwood HB. Mr Kegs in HB for cans/bottles. BT’s Southern BBQ for good bbq and IPA’s on tap. Super Mex next door to RiiP for mex grub. When are you planning to be at RiiP?

Thanks gunman and frosty. Saving me a lot of research time or creating a thread. I was looking for a good bottle shop around that area so glad to get the rec.

Looking like I’ll be there August 3-8. With the family and a newborn and 3 year old so my time getting out will be limited. My rough plan of action that I’d love input on:

    1. Riip: super close, always wanted to go there, sample and pick up some crowlers/ growlers to go. I feel like I could spend my whole time here and not get bored actually.
    2. Beachwood: I’ve never been to a location although tried a number of their beers. I’m waffling on which to go to. I love to sample so Seal Beach spot concerns me as the tap list is full pours it seems and only core Beachwood beers with impressive guest taps. I guess could eat dinner with the family there one night, but if I was on my own LB or HB look more appealing. Similar drive times and LB has more taps so I would lean there on the face of it?
    3. Noble Ale Works / Anaheim: drive time seems about the same as LB or HB Beachwood. I’d rather do something different and hit Beachwood or somewhere else though as I’ve done Bruery, Bottle Logic and that area before.
    4. What am I missing that’s relatively close and good?

Any recs on family friendly dining options with decent tap lists would be awesome too!

Always appreciate you guys!!! Go BA’s go!! And sorry for the brief thread jacking.

American Dream on PCH (Pacific City) in Huntington is family friendly with a pretty great taplist of 40ish beers. Plus you get a nice beach/sunset view. They don’t post their taplist anywhere online.

They do have a taplist on untappd. And it’s up to date. Been there twice. A decent taplist. A bit higher on price per pint. High rent area. But great views.
