Breweries Opening/Closing in Minnesota 2018

Not Minnesota, but barely over the border, so I’m going to ask about it anyways. Does anyone know what Thirsty Pagan’s plan is moving forward? They lost all of their brewers and are down to their last beer on tap.

 

Whoa, I had no idea of this. I always enjoyed going there for lunch and a flight.

 

Is that the new one in Hudson?

 

Nothing on social media says they’re circling the drain. You got an inside scoop, JJ? Something tells me you do. Feel free to share.

I don’t have any real insight besides the brewers left to work at Earth Rider. Their social media makes it seem like they will continue to operate as a restaurant until they find a new brewer, but as @MNAle pointed out, the recent Untappd check-ins of their beer sound like a eulogy.

 

Bummer, I had always heard great things about their beer (and pizza) and meant to get over there when up in Duluth but it never worked out.

 

Hope they stay afloat. I go to Duluth every summer and always visit Thirsty Pagan,Anchor & Keyport. This year will visit Cedar Lounge/Earth Rider.

 

Wouldn't they have a new brewer lined up when Ms. Rolph went to Earth Rider? The Pagan won't be going anywhere. They've been around for quite some time and are too good.

 

Pantown Brewing, in St. Cloud, on their Facebook has announced that Nick Flies is going to be their Head Brewer starting in June.

I am super excited to join in the burgeoning craft beer scene in St. Cloud and all of Central Minnesota! Not really a new opening, but Bent Paddle opened their new taproom last Thursday. I happened to get into town this past Sunday and it is a phenomenal space. One of the best in the state, for sure. They appeared to spare no expense. Lots of excellent details, very comfortable. Way bigger than the old space.

 

But how is the greenery and art work?

 

Jokes aside, the artwork was excellent. Idk if I’ve ever said that about a taproom

Rustech in Monticello hasn't listed an opening date yet, but they are promoting food trucks being there, and the earliest one is listed for May 26. It's going to be soon.
