Westbrook is in the go to category for me as well. I’ve never had the other two you mentioned. And yes, when I said Anderson Valley, I meant Kimmie.

Alvarado/Other Half Slice Joint. Can't get enough of this beer, will be sorry when I've drunk it all. One 4-pack left.

Westbrook's is probably the most tart enjoyable. Old Pro is similar on the salty side. Can't disagree with either as far as an Americanized, bolder versions go. Also agree with Anderson Valley being the benchmark from this side of the pond for sour, salty, and refreshing.

I have some Old Pro available... may be a totally odd (meaning: stupid) follow up to my last beer, but what the fuck...

For sure. I'll probably be in DC 3-4 times a year going forward.

Fantastic witbier! Amazing head retention/thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange zest, pear, red apple, melon, coriander, peppercorn, clove, and light banana/bubblegum yeast; with balanced wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malts; herbal/floral/grassy spice and yeasty earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy bitterness, yeast spiciness, and wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready wheat mouthfeel. Light sticky spice/hops and increasing dryness. Super refreshing, 5.5%. One of the best wits I've ever had for sure. Very rich and flavorful for the ABV. Perfectly balanced yeast, spices, and pale/wheat malts. Very well rounded complexities. Will be keeping this around very often, even if just as singles.

Awesome IPA! Fantastic head retention and thick lasting lacing on the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light honey/caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely drinkable, never aggressive, 7.2%. Wonderful Simcoe hop showcase. Perfectly balanced juicy and dank hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy. Grabbed a 4 pack after my review. Need to revisit regular Norm's again soon.

Pleased to try this beer. Funny, reminds me of a lot of the Stone beers. Looking forward to more of Mitch Steele’s beers.

Excellent fruit beer! Great head retention and foamy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, passion fruit, red apple, strawberry, melon, and hibiscus; with moderate caramel, wheat, lightly toasted bread malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal/floral/grassy bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready wheat; light fruit tang/acidity and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing tart/tangy fruit dryness, no cloying sweetness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 6%. Spot on fruit wheat ale, wouldn't change a thing. Big juicy fruit presence, with a nice malt backbone. Really similar to Rubaeus. Will be buying both as my go-to fruit beers now. Both are available year round.

Insane NE DIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, lemon, citrus zest, berry, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very minimal pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied bready/grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel. Slight hop stickiness, with a touch of increasing lingering bitter dryness. Zero hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable for 9.3%, minimal warming ABV. One of the absolute best in the style I've had, smoothness is unmatched. Pure citrus/tropical fruit juice hop flavors, with a touch of dankness. Never overly sweet or heavy feeling on malts for the body/ABV; perfectly balanced. Finished off the last January can in my fridge, but I have 2 more packs from last month. Still more on the fridge shelf today, but I got the Strawberry M-43 instead. Will review soon. Hope Cart Horse is year round now. Old Nation definitely has the best MI NEIPAs, but I love a lot of other ones as well.

My last Upstate Pils. They did a good job with this one, and I hope they keep brewing it.
