Actually I have not - but haven't had a chance to venture beyond supermarkets.
I'm not sure if I'm going to be into it to be honest, I hear a lot of people saying its quite pilsner like and I'm not looking for that. But if I see it at a good price I'll take the plunge.

What I am really looking for is Sierra Nevada's Kolsch that is about to be out now or very soon.

FYI, spotted it at Fairway today. $20.

I'm still waiting on Alpenflo in my area but came across this recently and gave it a go...never had it and honestly didn't know that it existed prior to stumbling upon it (FH beers are fairly new to my part of PA) but I have tried quite a few FH beers so far and liked them all and this one did not disappoint, good stuff.

@Sixpoint i just picked up my third 12 pack from Total Wine in Cherry Hill, NJ. It was their last one. Any idea when we can expect some reinforcements? Need it for Red Sox baseball, Bruins vs. Lighting and Liverpool vs. Roma (or perhaps Liverpool vs. Real Madrid/Bayren Munich if we’re lucky!). Cheers!!

I thought it was interesting to see them list the yeast used as American ale on their website when I went to look for the specs for this beer.

Don't see this on their web site calendar, did I miss an announcement?

I'm pretty sure it's only available in the party pack variety case rather than a stand alone six.

Someone posted the other day that it's out already (in the party pack) in some markets. Best beer news all year. If we all buy it up and let them know we want more SN Kolsch, maybe we can get a standalone release some day.

According to the SN web site the Party Pack has the Pale Ale, Otra Vez, Hoppy Lager, and Rye IPA. Maybe an update is needed?

I think I saw the PP locally, have to see what's in it.

Breaking news (yeah, the store isn't too far from home, and I had to pick up something for dinner) -- the Party Pack has the Kölsch -- and no Otra Vez. SN needs to update their calendar.

Yea the website says "changes coming in 2018" ... so its quite out of date...

    @SierraTerence

Awesome! Ill have to pick some up. Out of curiosity, what else is in it?

Didn't jot it down, but I remember the Pale Ale, Kölsch, the Hoppy Lager, Sierraveza -- maybe?

Sorry, was only looking quickly for the Kölsch.

Pretty sure it's SNPA, Kolsch, Sidecar Orange IPA (FFS) and this new Mexican lager, which I'm looking forward too as well.

I enjoy some SNPA whenever I get these packs and that Mexican lager intrigues me so 3/4 is pretty good. Thanks guys!

You'll do yourself a disservice if you base your purchasing decision on this beer based on some people's comments that this is Pilsner-esque. It's not a pilsner, and really doesn't lean towards being one. You're often jonesing for non-IPAs in NYC, and here's a perfect chance for you to try something right up your alley -- dive in head first!

I didn't say I wasn't going to pick it up - it's just that I haven't seen it yet after it's been out for some time. I'd be more likely to buy a $10 6 pack than a $20+ 12 pack though. In the NYC market you have to go far and wide to find the more obscure 12 packs. There does seem to be a casual consensus here that it is more bitter than other Helles. I find most Plis (except for Czech styles like Summerfest) too abrasive and bracing.

It's an overused word, but I go for "refreshing". Very smooth, and anything but abrasive. I also got tempted by the glass on the website. It's for sure a regular in my collection. Well done on both counts.

I don't know that I'd describe it as more bitter than other helles ... I described it to @steveh as the hops a more pronounced than other helles - likely due to the malts not being as strong/forward as other helles.
