At the zoning meeting, SC stated they have a 7 year lease, so unless they can get out of it they are not going anywhere. But given the apparent restriction on # of people being allowed into tap room, they still may get a haircut on revenue generated, so would make sense to open a tap room at a location that is business friendly.

I was there with my wife and we had our choice if we wanted to stand at an open spot at the bar, around a barrel in the tasting room, and I believe we could've gotten a spot at a table. Basically every group inside had ample room to spread out wherever they chose to set up shop. The space was more than I was used to. Wife counted 45/50 or so people. I can definitely see the line of people waiting to get inside becoming an issue, but mission accomplished in setting the occupancy at the levels you'd expect for people coming in for a taste and it not being a bar. The smaller crowd made for virtually no wait any time you wanted a drink and never a line of more than a person or two for the bathroom...I'd say the people most affected by this would have to be the smokers as stepping out for a quick butt or "vape" will put you at the end of the line.

Outside of the capacity limits, are there any other restrictions in the new "tasting room"? Are they only pouring small samples? No full pours? Limits on how long you can stay?

Was there yesterday, no drink restrictions, everything the same in that respect as it was before the long closure.

How about in terms of people allowed in the tasting room, if you don’t mind me asking? I can’t wait to go back but I don’t exactly live around the corner.

I was there on a Tuesday night so capacity wasn’t an issue, although it was busier than I expected it to be (around 25-30 people, 3 dogs). I could imagine if they’re strictly enforcing the fire code rules (which I assume they are now) then there will be lines during peak weekend hours.

Had the day off Wednesday, but just couldn't justify running up to Northport for the release (lack of time and too much beer at home already). What's the verdict on Downstate? Surprised nothing's been posted yet.

Still pretty green but had a serious mango thing going on. Even got a bit that TH melon too. Great DIPA as far as I’m concerned.

Went this afternoon around 1 to pick some Downstate up and have a glass. This beer, while a little green, is fantastic. Very impressed. Also had a nice conversation with the president of LIBME over a glass of Two Legit, which was a little boozy but considering it was 10%, I cant really complain.

Anyway, Oops! is still the best beer they make. This last batch is the epitome of fruity pebbles.

Thought it was sensible, composed, and multifaceted: Power of Two is sticky and sweet with hard candy/caramel malt elements. Yet, there’s prominence of melon with a moderate sense of pungency amidst the sly abv…Sweetness becomes more prevalent with breaks, but not too weighty

I’m with you. I just drank my third can tonight and I’ve liked each can more than the last. Really good DIPA.

Friday, just one tweet and a Facebook post. I am assuming because of problems with town they are going to try to avoid lines. Or maybe since a lot of their staff was at Tap NY, they didn’t want to do a Sunday can release. Linelife needs to be put out of business for all of these breweries, hopefully this is how Sand City keeps doing it. I was able to get cans yesterday, beer is very good.

Ah, I usually check Instagram so I guess that’s why. I needed to save some money anyway. I did notice in the Newsday story that the lines seem to cause them their biggest trouble with the town, so I guess being more low key about it would make sense.
