    Currently loving this Totalitarian RIS from Stone...

    It's been a while since I had their normal RIS, which (AFAIK) isn't being brewed, and I was thinking this would be just like it, but palate memory says it is not - this has a very robust char element, giving it some nice drying on the finish; isn't overly sweet, and has nice espresso and bittersweet chocolate impressions... Full-bodied and smooth, nice balance between bitter and sweet (which I like)... 2/20 bottling...

    Just finished watching Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri...

    Great fucking movie - great cast, great writing, great overall...

    Love the name.. and the beer is tasty. It's not a world class brew, but I've always enjoyed this one.

    Description:
    "Neapolitan Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Cognac Barrels with Walnuts and Maraschino cherries”
    Didn’t get to try this last year but lately Carton has expanded their distro (thank god) so I was able to track down this year’s batch.
    I definitely get the cognac up front but as it warms the cherry/walnut is showing. Vanilla/strawberry/roast from the base is most prominent

    3 1/2 months old. I have 1 left. Still fantastic. Not sure how much if at all i’m posting next weekend as my wife turns 40 on Cinco de Mayo and between U2 and some surprises for her I have a lot of time w/out kids, but mostly outside of the house.

    Finally made my way down to Lafittes Blacksmith and got my hands on a Lagunitas IPA, plus got some info on the ghosts. good beer and good history, good way to end a NOLA trip. obviously not my photo, but this is the coolest place I've had a beer in.
