That is so crazy it could actually work!!! Only question is would the ticket affect the taste of the beer and could they be forged

I think they should hold an Overhead can shotgun challenge instead of a lottery. The fastest times up to allotment number gets an allotment. Start practicing!

I will volunteer to run the lotteries in exchange for 1 allocation of each release.

Seriously, I thought Eventbrite had the capability to do tickets via lottery but it apparently doesn't. I was thinking of other breweries that do lottery releases. Those breweries run their sales directly through their own websites. For you to do that would most likely involve the installation of a whole new eCommerce site on the website. So it makes sense that a lottery would be a ton of extra work.

100% this, thanks Glenn... there is no perfect way. No matter what happens. Even if these were still 12pm notification releases, people would miss out and complain anyway. Complainers gonna complain. you can't please everyone. At the end of the day let those people complain, some of them will still buy any way maybe some wont. Shouldn't really be complaining at the amount of great beer within this state we have access too, or the fact that I can drive 20 mins and get a pour of Kane from the brewery ever!

Agreed, imperial ruined Sb's most remarkable quality, its ABV and drinkability. Honestly though I may even prefer regular variant to the DDH.

Would doing several smaller releases on something like Eventbrite be possible? I know for some concerts/events they do that
or some sort of code from a mailing list to enter the sale? Again, something some concert tickets do to stop scalpers/bots.

Neither is perfect but preventative measures may help ensuring that people have an equal chance at getting allotments.

Biggest problem I see with this is people that get allotments than getting multiple bites of the apple. Whats than stopping somebody who is lucky and gets through to than do the same again under their wife, parent, brother, etc.

I think ive rated reg Sneak over DDH Galaxy. But Galaxy HH over reg HH. I think Imperial Sneak is just as great as Sneak but yes you have to know you aren't getting a low ABV, but I think its just as drinkable.

They couldn't but they cant stop them from doing that in one singular release either...

Anyone know what Sneakbox kegs sell for at the brewery? Thinking about grabbing one on the way to Brigantine next weekend.

I've yet to miss trying for a Kane release, from as far back original BPT for ANTEAD. I've won some, I've lost some. I don't think the lottery vs. online ticket purchase debate is the issue. I think the main issue, which has been corrected as of late, is the short window from announcement, to ticket sale/lottery entry, to pick up window. That to me, is more important than lottery vs. online ticket purchase. There has been less time to corral mules, ask friends and family to do their part, and limit beer enthusiasts trekking from all parts of the Mid-Atlantic because they had the time to do it.

I have always wondered what would happen if a midday Saturday/Sunday silent release happened. Something along the lines of randomly at 2:30pm "X" bottle becomes available.

I completely agree, and now that you say this I realize that the way Kane does their Eventbrite releases with a short window to recruit a team is kind of genius and allows, instead, for individuals to have a fair shot to get an allotment (not considering “bots” which I don’t actually think is a major concern).

As for silent releases - I get it. It favors the locals which is cool. But I feel a little irked in those situations. I grew up 20-30 min away until I was 18, and now live in Hudson county for work in NYC. Do I deserve to have less of a chance to get a limited release than a guy who is a beer fan that just moved to Long Branch or whatever from Upstate NY or from out west? Anyway, however they do it there are going to be people that aren’t happy, so I’m fine with the online lottery.

On the bot issue, I agree completely. How many people could possibly be doing that? I'm not a line guy, so maybe others can tell us --- are the people that obsess over every new release and go to great lengths to chase whales (a) capable of and (b) actually setting up bots? Also, if it were a substantial number then the number of website hits would crash the system, no?

I think I've done three event bright releases, and got 2 out of 3 (though one was ob perm so easier). No bots.

And I agree short windows with no refund for no shows likely limit mules and out of staters.

There will always be complaints but it is obvious that Kane is trying to do whatever it to take care of its customers. People are just ridiculous. Should i complain about mid-day event bright start times and the fact I've never had ANTEAD? While I have a desk job it is so busy for me mid-day that I opened the website sometime around 11:30 and then never gotten back to it until about 3. This system is not fair to busy people, Kane!!!

I think over head was $90 + deposit last time my cousin got one, so I would say a tad less than that, maybe $75/$80

@glennl might be able to confirm
