According to the latest email newsletter from Belmont Station, it looks like the fine beers of Bale Breaker are going to be available in Oregon soon:

"Hailing from the hops haven of the Yakima Valley, Bale Breaker comes by its name honestly! We are thrilled this brewery is finally coming to Oregon and to have a chance to help them launch their beers here!"

Not gonna lie: I'm pretty damn thrilled about this news myself.

Perhaps we can work out a trade, even this up. Block 15, perhaps?

I really enjoy their IPAs. My only complain’t is they still haven’t canned their dormancy stout. They would make a killing (so many IPAs in cans/bottles, not enough stouts).

We already get Block 15, though.

Really like the field 41, but haven't had anything else to get excited about. Still, another excellent, hoppy pale ale on the market is never a bad thing.

I'm a huge BB fan. The cans of Leota Mae, F41, Top Cutter, and Bottom Cutter all rotate through my fridge on the regular. I think they're easily the match fora certain highly hyped Wyoming brewery that folks lose their shit over, and are generally superior. If you haven't had the pleasure of quaffing a few at their brewery, you need to do so. After you finish strolling the Highlands, of course.

Field 41 is one of my favorite beers of all time. Just never gets old.

Have been to the brewery several times. Pretty unimaginable to drive thru Yakima without making a stop. For whatever reason, have not been a huge fan of bottom cutter or top cutter. They're OK, but considering the rave comments and reviews I've read, I have to confess I've been a bit disappointed.

Me and Mrs. Vurt are fans of their Leota Mae IPA. Another good go-to IPA is always welcome in our home.

For me, it's about freshness and batch. I've found certain batches of fresh Bottomcutter to be just ok, while others are absolutely killer. This happens to me with Boneyard's RPM and Block 15's Sticky Hands too, which I tend to drink quite a bit of. Not sure if it's my palette that day or true batch variation, but it's certainly noticeable.

West side of what? Seattle folks consider The East Side as East Side of the lake

Completetely with you on the sticky hands. A really good dipa when fresh, but overly sweet and boozy when not.

I'm certainly willing to give BC and TC another chance, though after having both beers a couple of times at the brewery and still not being impressed, I can't say I'm hugely optimistic.

I'm not a big fan of Bottom Cutter, but I do think Top Cutter is a great IPA. Field 41 is still the king.

White Bluffs was on at Chucks the other day.

I can do this all night. Try the veal. Tip your waitress.

We get limited Great Notion on draft, but they're here. Had it at Latona Pub, Chucks, Burgundian, etc.

We also enjoy Top Cutter and the occasional Bottom Cutter, and I'm about due to give Field 41 another shot, so that's why my reaction was "pretty damn thrilled."

IPAs outsell other beer styles at stately Vurt Manor by probably 3 to 1. Our go-to IPAs, which we buy in rotation, are Ecliptic Starburst, Georgetown Bodhizafa/Lucille, Fort George Suicide Squeeze, and Marble IPA from Albuquerque when we can get it. Mrs. Vurt also likes Ninkasi Prismatic, and we go through our share of Breakside and pFriem bottles.

The beers of Bale Breaker will be right at home in that rotation. Right. At. Home.

This I think, is one of the few areas where you and I differ when it comes to beer. I very rarely drink beer at home, and when I do it tends to be from a crowler.

Most of the time I like to drink at a bar or taphouse, as I like the social aspect of drinking away from home. So there aren't ever a whole lot of cans or bottles kicking around the casa, so more than likely I won't be bringing home a lot of BB stuff (though hopefully I'll see their beer on draft). The F41 I know I'll buy sometimes, as it's such a user friendly beer (which for me means its hoppy, delicious and relatively low abv). Am interested to try that Leota Mae though...
