I'm just wondering if it happens that often that cans last until friday/saturday? I know it will totally depend on what is released in a given week. I was curious as my in-laws will be stopping in Richmond on a Friday in a couple weeks and I'm debating asking them to stop by and pick up some cans for me (we're meeting them in Charleston). However, I don't want to ask them for a favor if there's not much likelihood of anything lasting that long. Any thoughts/comments are appreciated. Thx!

Can’t help too much on veil though if you look back at their Instagram some things have been lasting into the weekend.

However you should definitely stop at Charles towne fermentory in Charleston, SC. Beers as good as veil (and in some cases better). They do crowlers and occasionally have cans (releases are usually Saturday).

Cans have been lasting several days and even into the weekend recently so it all really depends on how many difference ones are released along with the yield but I would say something will make it to Fri/Sat. Veil is really good about posting on social media around Noon what they have so I would keep an eye out on Facebook and Instagram the day of and then give your in-laws a heads up if they are willing.

If they are nice enough maybe also ask them to pick up cans from Triple Crossing in Richmond if it's a release week for them. They usually release on Fridays at Noon from their Fulton (Hatcher St.) location then split whatever is leftover between both of their locations in RVA on Saturday. You will not be disappointed in their IPAs/DIPAs and Gose. I personally prefer them over The Veil

I'll second everything said here, and add that Veil opens at 4 on Friday and Triple Crossing opens at noon, so depending on what time they're coming through it might be a lot easier for them to go by Triple Crossing. It would not be a consolation prize either, TC's hoppy beers are significantly better imo.

They typically have food truck(s) at The Veil? Will be coming through tomorrow and I'm torn between trying ZZQ or just getting something at The Veil for convenience

Barring something unusual, they have a food truck or table in the lot set up on the weekends. And most days, really - it'll be listed on social media.

When they post their can availability tomorrow morning scroll to the bottom of that post and it will say what food truck(s) will be there. Maybe even message them if you want to know instead of waiting. ZZQ still has their mobile pit and was serving a couple Saturdays ago at Veil.

I'm sure you've looked on a map but ZZQ is still very convenient to The Veil. I finally tried the brisket a week or so ago and my thought was that its a little overrated. It was very tender and looked like it was going to be delicious, but it turned out to be a little bland despite a solid bark and smoke color.

thx yep I already have that on my list and will hit it up when i'm in charleston. its just too hard to pass up opportunities to get beer i don't normally have access to so i'm going to try for both and get veil and CTF. why settle for one when i can hopefully get both!

If anyone is going to be in the Va. Beach area on June 23rd The Veil will be participating in Smartmouth's Lupulin Effect IPA Festival. https://smartmouthbrewing.com/event/lupulin-effect/

Good deal too. $30-$40 for 10 - 5oz tastings which I assume will be 1 from each collab and guest beer....then $5 for 12oz pours of any available IPA.

Gotta admit I have not seen Veil do many festivals hosted by other breweries in the state so it's nice to see they will be there.

Anyone headed to the release today be sure to check traffic on your way in. According to BTV posts there is a big semi directly in front of The Veil stuck in the middle of the street. One person said possibly a grain truck that was trying to get into Veil's lot.

Post was around 1:45ish and traffic below is as of 2:10. Avoid Roseneath off Broad...

Lol yep, I just walked down to take a look after reading your post, there is definitely a tanker truck completely blocking the entire width of Roseneath. It looks like it was trying to back into the Veil parking lot when it bottomed out on the "hump" shape of the road (think how rain drains to the sides of the road). They have a tow truck hooked up to it but I'm not sure if they'll be able to tow it out without seriously damaging the truck.

I just wanna say I'm so happy to see Dirt Nap back again. I really wish we could get this one more regularly but I guess 4x per year is about as regular as any of their beers get and that's what we're tracking on this one at this point.
